They have a lifetime guarantee on their figures.
They even make army builder sets for the Halo property that would be ideal for joes as well. I understand what you mean about the Kre-O being a possible competitor with the Mega Brand Bloks, but Mega has already showed its' 2011 Marvel lines which are also Hasbro licences which means they will probally get the new Marvel movies and other lines as well. Star Wars Lego would also be a competitor so I wonder if they plan to pull Star Wars from Lego? Come to think of it it's odd that they gave mega and lego properties of theirs. So maybe Kre-O is just going to be for Transformers and not any other property. Those customs are great especially the vipers, but I would rather have posable weapond toting backpack wearing army builder guys over iconic traditional "bricks" bad pun any day. Hasbro only has the Star Wars 3 3/4" liscense. So no, there will be no pulling from Lego.
Like I said earlier in the thread. I asked the reps and they said it's just Transformers. Now if it sells like hot cakes, then it could have other brands added.

I'm afraid that I'm a Lego purist. I consider consider "compatible" systems knock-offs and in bad form. I wish Hasbro would either stick to their core competency with these properties or if possible license the properties to Lego to do correctly. I realize that a straight out war toy might be outside of Lego's comfort zone. If that's so, I really wouldn't mind if Hasbro (G.I Joe) stuck with 1:18 figures, that's what I really want anyway.

I've never understood how Lego says they are anti-war toys but their largest property has the word Wars in it the mind boggles.

IMHO it's not like it would tarnish their image, they've made space kits with aliens fighting astronauts for years now, and medieval knights, ninjas, samurais, et al. Now they DID actually make a Tomcat-esque model for their Creator series a while back, but no missles and it was in bright colors. |

It depends on the quality and variety of bricks, as well as the asthetic of the minifigs. From what I see I am not digging the look of the TF minifigs, but that may change when i see one in person.
The beef I have with the Halo Megablocks is the poor quality of the bricks (the set I bought crumbles when i try to build it, very frustrating to have to handle it with kid gloves), and I am not a fan of the minifig asthetic (too much detail). Last edited by txbart; 03-19-2011 at 05:20 AM.. |
