Hey, I know my share of building block connoisseurs. I mean, actual Legos would be better-- my brother's already sworn off Mega Blocks... at least mostly-- so I don't know if he'd be into a different non-Lego thing.
Although, he IS big into Transformers, so... that would be a foot in the door for me to drag him down into the world of Joes with me... (and yes, mine is an evil laugh) I'm less into building things, but I actually do enjoy the tiny people for some reason... and hey, *somebody* needs to kick my tiny Mega Blocks skeleton pirate's ass... Lego Zookeeper isn't going to do it, he's a damn zookeeper.

Those Lego Joe customs are awesome! I can't believe some of the stuff people do with Legos.

Nay, Nay and Thrice nay.
Transformers and G.I.Joe are in completely different positions with regard to marketing, Kreos are nothing more than a cash grab on the part of a marketing department desperate to squeeze every last penny out of the movie franchise. They will go go discount in very short order, but it doesn't matter. TFs are so strong as far as retailers are concerned, that they'll order anything with a TF logo on it. G.I.Joe. Not so strong. All G.I.Joe Kreos will do is damage the brand. The last thing it needs right now is cash grab merchandising. There's some genuinely interesting stuff on the way. Hasbro, if you release G.I.Joe Kreos you'll be pushing the brand back. Don't. Please dont. |

When you read a question like "would you support Kre-O for Joes?" you automatically think of small sets of troop builder Vipers, BATS and great stuff like HISS tanks and Skystrikers. But given how Hasbro works these days, you'd likely be paying extremely high prices for poor assortments, sub-par quality (compared to LEGO), and little variety in the line. I can see folks pouring loads of money into initial offerings only to have the line cancel quickly due to lack of broad interest.
I'll pass.

But since no one has these in-hand to see how well they work, that discussion is irrelevant at this time. Should the whole discussion have been tabled until they were on the shelves and we could see what the quality really is? Probably. But the question is "would you be interested in Kre-O Joes" and that question is such that the quality isn't relevant. It's just asking if having building block Joes is something interested in. Unspoken in all the "yes" responses would be "if the quality is worth it".
