yeah I agree with this too. That can also be taken as "you can ignore ROC and enjoy this"

Why would anyone need to ignore ROC and this film stand apart from it? Rise of Cobra brought more fans to the base because it was nothing but old, stupid fans who would buy anything anyway.
Also, Rise of Cobra sold more toys than the 25th. Keep it like it is. Rise of Cobra was awesome!

So they're admitting RoC sucks in a round about sort of way, yet they're still moving forward? Why?

as great as that is...my response is
as great as an improvement the next movie will be (even with the old "college try" it will be a huge improvement) My focus is and will remain on the supporting TOYS for the franchise...whether it "bombs" or "explodes" at the box office is of little concern...i want the TOYS. Show me "good toys" mr hasbro ceo man...and i will show you as much of my paycheck as my wife will allow. |

Whether it sucks or not is frankly irrelevant. As an action movie it was strictly in the "not bad" range, and even quite enjoyable if you go into it with limited expectations (and a love for hammy acting and scene-chewing, which I freely admit to), but that doesn't matter because it was a complete Base Breaker. |

anyone in the business has to realize they NEED to at least do a partial reboot. As much as I hate to say it, Im just not that interested in a sequel. I did NOT like the crappy love triangle, characters, design...Nothing...the best part of the movie for me was Zartan, just because I thought he was a cool take. Im just not interested in anything CLOSELY releated to ROC. If theres nods to that film, fine, but to continue THAT terrible story is setting yourself up for failure, or at least, mediocre BO sales
