Chap Mei Toys forum member "blitzwing" posted these interesting pics of a recently purchased Knock-Off 25th Hiss Tank.
I know that knock-offs interest some fans so I thought I would mirror his pics & info here. This is a cheaply made bootleg but does feature an Olive Green Hiss Tank Driver!! He did not reveal where he purchased this or his source. blitzwing's photos & notes on the "VERY HOT FIRE WAR CHARIOT" are below: One of Cobra's symbol of armored might and ground superiority the High Speed Sentry Tank, is also one of the most sought after army building vehicles in the 25th line. They are one of the tougher finds in the line because of the demand. KO makers have taken advantage of the TF lines but so far we haven't seen any Knockoff/KO Joe vehicles especially in the 25th line till now. And of all the vehicles they made a KO of, it is this one... IN THE PACKAGE: They copied the 25th style (especially the Target Exclusive Attack On Cobra Island) packaging with some amusing twists... Front: Instead of the Cobra symbol with "Attack On Cobra Island" written on it. It has Grand Slam's mug with "Very Hot Fire War Chariot" instead. Bottom: Instead of Cobra Commander's mug saying "Failure Will Not Be Considered" you get a display of the other vehicles available...don't ask me if I've seen them because so far it's only the tanks that are seen. Here the ,VAMP is Multi Purpose Attack Vehicle and the driver is Double Hold Firmly I suppose they were using a dictionary when translating what "Clutch" means hehehe. HISS is HBCC. OUT OF THE BOX: Figure: Driver in olive green with two stands with no pegs and a knife and a pistol are included. Although there are some that do not have these weapons and "stands". Believe it or not the fig has a variant! (The variant is the logo) Either way both are doo doo considering you can only rotate the shoulders, head and legs and rotating the legs backward will cause the limb to pop out Sticker: Almost like the real deal and they stick decently too. Ze Tank: Forget about the packaging, stand and figure...its this big chunk of plastic that we are after. Although the finish is slightly more shiny, the plastic quality is almost the same as the original. There may be some loose parts but can be easily remedied by a lil superglue. The turret can rotate and can fully point up but don't expect it to stay up that way. There are some plastic flashes like the ones in model kits but again you can easily remedy this by shaving it off with an exacto knife. Comparisons with the original: Although its not too visible but, the KO (left) has specks on the glass and it isn't as clear as the original (right). KO (right this time) does not have a divider inside the turret while the original (left) one has. Original has foot pegs while the KO does not. Very minute faults that you can ignore especially they're just 1/4 the cost of the original at the SRP when it came out. Army building is easier..that is if you can find these.... PROS: 1. Very cost effective to army build 2. Decent Sticker Sheet 3. Came with weapons for the figures CONS: 1. Figure is negligible 2. May come with incomplete parts 3. No pegs for the "stands" Last edited by Steel Brigade; 12-28-2023 at 05:35 PM.. |

So why have the figure stands been photoshopped?
Given how closely this KO is to a real GI Joe product, this probab;ly wasn't sold in a US retail store (Like Big Lots, Tuesday Morning, etc...) |

^ He did not mention why the stands are blacked out.
By some of his wording (that I corrected) he might not be from the US, (& popular belief) is that these where bought somewhere in China. He did mention them being not widely available. |

"and the driver is Double Hold Firmly"
I will hunt down a KO vamp just for a Double Hold Firmly figure. Awesome.
