Yeah It was a pretty decent article it gives me some small hope that gas prices might change in the near future.
Here is the article for anyone that's interested: http://editorial.autos.msn.com/artic...nl_6005.4.2.17 Last edited by Snake-Eyes; 04-24-2008 at 07:26 PM.. |

I have tried to understand why no other toy lines that I know of have raised in price. We hear all these reasons Joe prices are going up ,but no other toy line I'm aware of has increased in price in the past few months. I even think I could accept it more, if when wave 7 was on the pegs the price said 6.84 not with old waves or empty pegs having an increase. Like someone said in another post the comic packs still have not raised in price because there has not been a new wave. Well thats why the single card price hike makes no sense old waves on the pegs or no figures at all on the pegs in some stores, yet we have an increase. The only difference between comic packs vs. single card Joes is demand. Single card figures are never in stock comic packs are almost always hanging on the pegs. It is 1 week later & most are still there. The price impact definately made a difference. No longer are they flying off the shelves.

These price hikes suck, its true but i wouldn't place the blame completely on Hasbro. These figures are all printed, molded, assembled, packaged, and shipped from out of country. (Not to mention that the figure itself is a product of oil)They take a truck to the boat, and the boat takes them over here to another truck. Trucks and tankers both run on the same fuel. Plus with the increase in gas, the wages of employees goes up, taxes go up, medical, dental....and so on. Yes these figures are a gigantic hit, but at the same time gas has almost doubled in price since their release. Star Wars figs have been steadily on the pegs since the POTF2 line in 94 i think it was. If i remember right i was paying either $3.99 or $4.99 a fig 15 years ago. They haven't gone up more the 1 or 2 dollars in that 15 year span. Think about all the places these figures have to go before they hit the pegs, and all the people that work to get them there. All these people need to make a profit off of $5.99 er $6.84 haha. Im surprised they aren't $10 by now
