From Hasbro PR:
To the G.I. JOE fan community, we are looking at making the Sgt. Slaughter figures available again at retail, albeit in different packaging and likely not as single-carded basic figures. While details are not final we are making progress for late Spring ’11 and will have news in a couple months. Slaughter Marauder's mutipack? |

Spring 2011 ... that's in the middle of POC and Renegades, correct? I am thinking this will be a pretty crappy sarge figure.

I suspected Hasbro was going to re release him in non-sdcc packaging. Good I guess to hear.

I like the "corporate" bull statement...they were selling cases of the figures at the con and tons on ebay.
They should just have limited the amount you can buy period. They should just release the same figure with the same packaging period. That is what fans want and that is what they should get period! This bull from hasbro is a little too late...you guys dropped the ball and could have had a great product to sell but this whole "exclusive bull crap" is just not worth the time. The exclusive figure thing at all these conventions just destroys the fun of collecting. I say RELEASE THE SAME FIGURE AT RETAIL! I disagree. Being that they are Con Exclusives, you should have to attend the con to get them. People pay assloads of money to go to be able to get these figures. I don't think the exact same thing should show up in retail. That would be like spitting in the face of the people who did attend the con or who waited for hours, hitting F5 every 2 seconds to score it off HTS. |

Uh, people are not reading the most important part of this entire statement:
While we cannot guarantee anything at this time, because of the demand by fans who could not get the Comic-Con figures, we are looking at making the Sgt. Slaughter figures available again at retail, albeit in different packaging and likely not as single-carded basic figures Cannot guarantee anything and we are looking to make him available ....

Am I the only one that realizes what "exclusive" means and understands, acknowledges and accepts that it also means that there's a chance I won't be able to get the figures that I want and can live with that?
Wow.. Hell, collecting would SUCK if there were no limited releases or rare items to hunt/collect. It wouldn't be collecting then, it would be just buying.

Depends, do you want the exact figure that's out now? If so, go buy them. If you don't care that it could be a completely different figure and look nothing like the SDCC sarge, than wait.
