On the Forum for the GI Joe Collector’s Club” on 8/13/10 06:01PM, David Lane, a.k.a. the “Commander” said: “Hi Guys, I'm starting this thread for updates on the 3 3/4" Convention set. To start things off, I just wanted to confirm two things: (1) The set will contain 25th Anniversary-style figures!, and (2) We are NOT revisiting a previous Convention set! Keep an eye on this section, as more will be posted when the information is available.”
That’s great news, as far as I’m concerned. Because the "Crimson Strike Team" in 2009 was a revisit of a previous set, I was getting concerned that the “Escapades in the Everglades” (Dreadnoks set) would be repeated in 2011. I was concerned about a rehash of the Dreadnoks set too till I was on the phone with a friend at Celebration 5 the other day and he said he was standing there next to Brian Savage. I had him ask about the set being a rehash and I was told I didn't need to worry
Given what they were saying at last Joecon I was already led to believe o-ring sets were done with |

I'm not sure that's what was said, just not a 25th update on the Dreadnok Rampage set...personally I'm hoping we get the Rampage sets exclusive characters with 25th style Zarana, Zandar, Zanya, and Heartwrencher, Gnawgahyde, Thrasher, Zanzibar.
Aside from that maybe a not awful color Eco-Warriors, or some more International Character updates. |

I want a Cobra-La set as much as I Jar-Jar Binks convention exclusive.
I'm definitely hoping for a set of figures that were never made in the 25th Anniversay collection. Any combination of the following figures would be great. Most of them would need to reuse existing parts(including head sculpts) but I'd like new head sculpts for Zarana, Zandar and Cover Girl. Zarana, Zandar, Cover Girl, Sparks, Low-Light, Lifeline, Dial-Tone, , Airtight, Footloose, Sci-Fi, Iceberg, Law & Order, Cross Country, Frostbite, Steel Brigade,

I think it would be interesting to have some sort of BioChem mishap set, with some newsculpt toxo vipers, Cesspool, Airtight, Lifeline, maybe some SteelBrigade guys...might be cool and would be an interesting theme i think. or not? |
