I'd rather have seen a entirely new FF design, like they did with Zartan.
Speaking of Zartan, I hope we'll see a pianted sample of him before the end of the Con. According to a recent thread@JBL, painted Zartan and another figure who is painted are in SDCC somewhere. I bet Hasbro will unveil them at the panel. Also I hear the new guy in charge of the line is a hardcore 80's comic/cartoon joe nut. ![]() |

The joesightings message boards has a thread with an interview with Hasbro's John Warden. Among the interesting tidbits is that he'd like to re-visit some of the first 25th ann figures, mostly to correct articulation issues. Also, the Beachhead/Firefly mold will unfortunately be out of scale with the other figures, due to an error. Apparently it'll be slightly larger than Roadblock.

http://www.joesightings.com/forums/i...showtopic=5889 I think that the fact that we have a Hasbro representative telling us that figures that haven't been released yet are going to have major design flaws is laughable. Their TELLING us that they have every intention of offering us a substandard product even before they hit the shelves, while in the same breathe admitting that they want to correct problems on substandard product that we've ALREADY bought. Of course he also admonishes us that if we DON"T buy the substandard product first he WON"T produce the corrected product. I JUST CAN"T BELIEVE WHAT I READ IN THIS INTERVIEW! I mean Hasbro makes garbage and says that they'll offer us the priveledge of buying another of the same figure with the corrections that should have been made before retail, but only after we buy the garbage. Give me a break! Just my opinion. Last edited by miked; 07-27-2007 at 09:31 AM.. |

I'm not defending Hasbro on releasing toys that have issues...but let's look at things from this angle.
We should be grateful that we even have these new anniversary figures to begin with. The state of the world is very much in upheaveal over war and such...and military themed toys just don't appeal to as many people this day and age. Yeah, the die-hard collectors will snatch up every bit they can and I'm sure the casual collector will pick up a few items for nostalgia reasons...but whatever about everyone else. The fandom only makes up 5% or less of total sales. Plus, I was told during the Hasbro tour @ Botcon this summer that it took a lot of negotiating on Hasbro's part to even get the retail buyers to consider putting the 3 3/4" Joes back on their shelves. I've ran into a lot of parents that don't like their kids playing with any sort of "realistic" war related toys...whether it's a Sigma 6 figure or a cap gun. So, from the way I see it I'm just glad to have new Joe product to add to my list of items to "hunt" when I go out shopping. Yeah, I get annoyed when errors and production issues arise...but I rather have those than no new product at all!
