I still have hope that something good will finally happen. From the toys to the movie, it has all been a disappointment save for Resolute. Resolute was too good though and Hasbro isn't known for building on success these days.

Good to see the hardcore fans have already got to work on ripping this show to shreds before we actually know anything about it.
Yes, we don't need inconsistent characterisation and shock value deaths...oh wait. |

I agree. We won't know anything until we see the cartoon in November, and Resolute wasn't that good. It wasn't much better than the plots from the 80's cartoon show, they just added swearing and killing for no good reason. I'm really more excited about seeing what the whole network will be about... will it all be cartoons? What about live-action programing? When does the network debut? Does anyone know the answers to these questions?

IIRC Discovery Kids changes it's name on October 10th, and the blurb says programming is aimed at kids 6-12... so chances of something even close to Resolute are pretty slim. (i think) it was slated to be "educational" as well, so there'll probably be some amount of live-action. Live action what... who knows. |

with any luck... they'll at least take cues from the comic related cartoons that are out there... that despite being aimed at a younger audience...
are still relatively watchable as a whole.

Resolute route as in the drawing of the characters and animation style...not story death shock value as you put it, totally not what I was referring too....there is a big difference between big reatrded spikey hair skinney leg elmo joes and Resolute like/Metal Gear Solid style anime focus in the way they are drawn. (they indeed said it would be more of along the lines of transformers animated line already in one of the Q/As so we do have an idea of what they are thinkinng about. All they need to do is make it a little more modern and liflelike rendered in cartoon versus totally ass backwards skinny overtly long legs legs, whacko spikey hair 45 feet tall, stubby weapons that are soo huge a pistol could be taken for a tank cannon and so forth, that is all been doen before and it looks awful. Watch a few episodes of Clone Wars and watch for Aniken, you will understand my point better. But like it's been said, its for 6-8 year olds so GI JOE:Bodogokuahn Ball Monster Wars here we come...

I doubt that G.I. Joe will be premiering with the network in October. There's a LOT of lead-time on Animated series, and I think if it were coming that soon we would have seen a lot more already. They likely would have announced it a year in advance (usually animated series have about a year or more between announcement and airing).
I'm just saying, don't necessarily expect that G.I. Joe is going to be one of the "launch series" for this network, unless we're looking at one of the most rushed cartoons in recent memory, which would NOT be a good thing. If it IS coming in October 2010, then I'd wager that it is in fact Pursuit of Cobra, because I really doubt we're going to get two separate lines and RoC launches in August, just two months before the toon would be debuting. We already know Hasbro is planning PoC through spring of 2011 at least (From the Q&As). It's entirely possible that the delays for PoC had less to do with poor sales of RoC and more to do with Hasbro restructuring it to be a media tie-in. |

I think it was Ball, when he auditioned for Tunnel Rat and thought he saw a character sheet that compared it to Transformers: Animated and Sigma Six in style.
