Tuscaloosa, AL TRU had 4 sting raiders, no shipwrecks or docs, and all the Marvel / SW / Joe figures were marked down to $6.99. Online they have it for the same price, too. Shipwreck, and some of the new SW figures were still on there earlier today for that price. Also, I did get 5 of the Iron Man 2 figures for $6.99 today at TRU. Was pretty pumped about that. They had 2 each of Mark 3, comic Original Iron Man, comic red/yellow Iron Man, Power Assault, and Hypervelocity Iron Mans. There are now one of each of those left on the shelves. Someone else cleared out the War Machines and Crimson Dynamos, so don't hate on me, if you go.

The TRU stores in all 5 boroughs of NYC seem to have raised their prices on everything, but the stores out in LI haven't.
I noticed this a few weeks ago when video games that are $59.99 everywhere else were now priced $64.99 at the NYC TRU stores. I spoke to someone who works at the TRU in Carle Place LI and they think that it might have something to do with the sales tax increase. Sales tax went up in NYC so now it's higher than it is in LI. The TRU employee at Carle Place said that their sales increased after the NYC tax raise because people were driving out there to shop over the holidays instead. This caused some of the NYC locations to lose out to the LI locations. In order to make some money back the NYC locations raised their prices hoping their local customers wouldn't notice that the price changes weren't across the board. They figured that if they sold less units at higher prices they could match the sales of their LI counterparts. This all sounds very strange. Some things make sense, while others don't. I'm only going by what a TRU employee told me though. |

Went to TRU here today and the price decrease was in effect, $6.99. Same with Marvel Universe.
They didn't have anything I wanted though. |
