Hmmm I amy be wrong, but I see that Quick Kick is on the cover of the last issue that Marvel made. I though he was killed by the Saw Viper along with seven other Joes? I have that issue somewhere. I'll have to dig that out and take a look.

DDP did a fantastic job with the book... I have recently read a lot of the old larry hama stuff and DDP is about 300 times better...

Nacho - You ought to make your sig available to everyone who wants it if we all want to get behind this "no re-boot" thing. I'd swap it out for the stars and stripes until we find out what the new company is going to do. .

Personally, if they ARE going to go to a re-boot, then I think my avatar is more fitting then.
(my AVATAR, NOT my sig picture )

The best thing for Hasbro to do would be to align the existing comic with the movie continuity. All of the announced movie characters are still alive, and I'm not sure what they plan to do that couldn't be done in the current universe. Yeah, they'd have to make Hawk walk again, but other than that, why toss out all the history. Why not just achieve the desired "brand unity" by making the current continuity status quo resemble the movie rather than starting over. This would make the old fans happy while making the book accessible to new fans who pick up the book after seeing the film, IMO. |

I can see them making the comic resemble the movie for the purpose of making it familiar to new readers, but if the movie BECOMES the comic continuity, I'll be surprised and very disappointed. The movie and comic are two different animals. IDW kept the rebooted G1 comic separate from the TF movie and just published separate movie-specific tie-in comics. The Joe movie, will inherently contain plot and backstory limitations due to it being crammed into a coherent 120 min film. Lets hope they have the good sense to keep the joe comic somewhat insulated from any failings/limitations the movie might contain. I think they will feel similar, not be one and the same continuity. |

Can't really see a problem. When it comes to Transformers, IDW has a movie continuity comic and G1 comic on the shelves at the same time (their Starscream-centric 'official' movie sequel is just about to begin).
I would hope we'd get a similar experience for GI JOE.

As always:
NO REBOOT!!! Keep it Classic Coke, no need to even try the other version.
