The original continuity is back!!
RyallTime FCBD-gijoe-CVR+final.jpg (image) My only fear is that it ignores what DDP did, That would be a tragedy and a mistake IMVHO If it doesnt contradict what DDP did Ill definately be back to reading comics again. Im hoping it fills in the 7 year gap kind of thing and bridges the two series If it does contradict what DDP did then ill be on the fence on whether to buy it or not. Lets hope the RED SHADOWS come back one way or the other! |

This could be freaking amazing. I'm looking forward to it but trying not to get over excited just yet. You never now.

I'll prey to God this gets a true launch. Cant wait for a reading.
* Devil's Due butchered the Marvel series to all hell. I miss the old days when there was only one solid comic book series and it wasnt all over the damn place. Last edited by CG82; 12-12-2009 at 06:25 PM.. |

Not necessarily ignoring it. The DDP stuff took place years after the Marvel run. So this could be the "in-between" years. Besides, aside from a few bad decisions, I really liked the DDP stuff.

I'm loving the IDW stuff, but this could be cool too. I notice how the blog stresses "Real American Hero".

I agree. Plus, the DDP stuff, for the most part, was heads and tails better than the end run of the Marvel series.

So if this winds up being a gap bridge between the Marvel and DDP stuff, I don't think it's going to last very long. From what I remember of the DDP comics there was one or two missions after the decommission of GI Joe (IE Marvel 155) and basically all that happens is Duke becomes a CIA spook and Bazooka gets fat being a rent a cop.....not exactly the most exciting story for a comic book series

I'm thinking it's going to do away wiht DDP entirely. IDW owns the Marvel catalog and stories, not DDP. So if they intend for this to be an ongoing series continuing into the future, no DDP.
