MegsTriggerMan over at cobraisland.com just brought this to my attention. JoBlo.com has another making of clip from the upcoming DVD release. Nice clip of how some of the effects from the street chase were done. Check it out here.

What's this clip about? How to make a 2009 movie with 1998 CGI.

Everything is always about that stupid accelerator suit sequence! Ugh. Yeah, it was okay, but looked way too video-gamey for me.

After hearing how long it took them to make this shot, I'm even less impressed. I hate CGI crap.

Hm maybe just maybe they should have spent all that time and money on better writers, actors and a real director. Effects does not a movie make. I'll take the old Star Wars movies over the new ones any day. I don't care about models on strings and puppets because there have better actors and a good story with clear pot lines.

No offense to that Digital Effects group, but I thought the camera angles were pretty cock-eyed and didn't look realistic. Not the best display of CGI... if you actually notice it's CGI.

I agree with all of you. I would be very sad if the result of a year's worth of my work was that unimpressive shot. I know the accelerator suits are not supposed to be realistic, but the physics of that shot are off in many ways.
