I'm so tired of all the pre-orders and the long lead time for them. I also hate how they tend to all start hitting in a small window. So I've decided to cancel all of mine (assuming it's not an exclusive) and just wait to find what I can find later. At least then I get to decide when I spend the money.
This isn't a "I'm quitting" post.. I'm just changing my strategy now. Very few figures left are must haves to me.. so it won't hurt my feelings if I miss anything with this wait and see method. I'm really trying to start dialing back collecting anyways.. so this is a best of both worlds approach.

I do love how McFarlane shows off figures and then they are here in a month. Really makes me fine pre=ordering those because I know when they are coming.

Yeah, it's going to be another 2023 where everything hits the 2nd half of the year. I do wonder if the last wave, last retro wave and a few other items scheduled for the end of 2025 might get delayed to the first part of 2026 though. Because it's sure starting to look like that may happen now.

These long lulls between product really put a damper on my enthusiasm. It's only April. Feels like a long time since I got the Zandar wave - and August seems like a long way away for the next hits.
Has everyone finally gotten their Dial Tones? I'm feeling survivors guilt for having gotten him so long ago now. Now when we have $750 of charges in 7 weeks in Q3 of this year, ask me how I feel then. ![]()

I really don't see how this is a sustainable business model. Dumping everything at once (it's not just Joes, there's Marvel and Star Wars as well) forces most people to pick and choose, holding off on non-priority pieces and impulse buys to absorb the fat bank account/CC ding. Seems common sense would dictate planning things the other way around, and spreading things out to maximize profits and sales. At this point, despite promises to that they wouldn't be doing this anymore, it almost seems deliberate.
I almost feel as if Hasbro doesn't think there is alot of crossover fandom for their IPs, though. I mean, remember when Emily said she had to sell the execs on army builders? These dudes aren't exactly tuned into how collecting works, how fandoms work, etc. They just want to see the $$$. You also have to wonder if they push alot to certain financial quarters so that they can then say how great that quarter is doing? |

It's a bummer but it's also something Hasbro told us about late last year. As much as I gripe about their comms and transparency with customers, this is something they told us about. So I hear you on the sense of ennui around no releases, but all the same I empathize b/c Hasbro knew (and told us) it was going to be the case for a bit.

I stopped collecting after '88 so no attachment to anything after that. |

Well I'm in Asia. Maybe I can get some things in early. Really hate how they jacked the prices up before for predicted inflation and now they gotta jack them up again because of tariffs.
