Hmmm the VE-02 Gyrocopter(?) is starting to look the goods with what looks like tweaks for the better.
The first prototype looked way too stubby and out of proportion, very much like a lot of corner-cutting was done to suit the re-use of the VE-01 cockpit.
I wasn't interested in purchasing the first proto' VE-02 with that 'compact FANG' look of the initial progress pics.
This one now in Cobra colours seems much better proportioned, so put me into the 'very happy with the Sky Hawk, slot me in as a buyer, final price depending' box.
My guess is it should be a fairly reasonable purchase price, Sky Hawk was $83 plus shipping direct from Fans Hobby and other Chinese distributors.
$99 for this aircraft with LEDs and rotating blades would hopefully be the go.

Can't say I'm interested in the canopy at all though.
IMHO the FANG is an ultra-light, low altitude gyrocopter and not a higher altitudes helicopter requiring a canopy.
As kids, my friends and I thought the O.G. FANG was released at peak Mad Max interest.
Everyone thought Cobra's FANG was influenced by the Gyro-Captain flying around in his ultra-light Gyro-Copter.
(Actually just thought of Connery/Bond flying around in "Little Nellie" from "You Only Live Twice" too )
See-through canopy not required at all.

I think Fans Hobby only owns one 6" figure to display in their 1/12 scale vehicles, the same bloody Huge Jackoff figure from all the VE-01 promo's.

I couldn't pass up the chance to get one since it's only a few dollars more than a single figure - looks like it would make a good Cobra RAGE.

The canopy is there so they can put an image of it on the box with the canopy on it and so not get sued. Much like adding the wings to the Air Eagle was a similar preventative measure.

I bet they are in a bind with the VE-03 Buggy though what with taking the seat off making it look more like the Vintage toy and leaving it on making it look like the Classified one.

I expect the method of sale there will be to leave the roof cannon off - maybe even add a .50cal to the roof seat point. They'd want it to look more "Delta Force" and Less Gi Joe for promotional purposes ; then let people dress it up how they want once they get it out of the box. Hopefully the original auto cannon is still included.

The Buggy has working steering incidentally.

I expect it won't be to long now before they show off the decals for their current two designs too.

edit: So 160,163, and 164 haven't been announced up to 170 right? One of those has to be the AWE with crankcase.
