Getting pretty impatient waiting for Dialtone. I also keep seeing the modular bunker set popping up on youtube reviews, so hopefully that will be shipping soon.

I'm not feeling all that bad spending a bit extra for my wal-mart Dial-Tone mwuahahaha. He's a cool fig tho. I really dig the backpack even if it is a bit heavy and makes it difficult for him to stand.

I am not certain, but I believe the delays are due to a factory relocation. So expecting a huge dump of product in the back half of this year. Trying to stay patient and not start diverting my toy funds to other lines I dont need.

For instance I bought my first Mythic Legions figure. Loved it, and immediately went and ordered 3 more. This will not be sustainable.

Agreed. The sheer variety and quality of action figure collectibles available to us now is astounding. My 10 year old self would be amazed. And they run the gamut from big companies to small start ups making awesome and unique items.

Sometimes I wish I had all the space and money in the world. I wouldnt do anything other than hang with my family and tinker with toys.

Yeah, in hindsight I am kinda wishing I spent the 10 dollar algorithm tax to grab Dialtone and complete that wave. Ever since I moved NF Crazy Legs to being my Not Sky Hawk pilot, Ive got a hole in my lineup display just waiting for the next Joe to slot in.

I could be wrong, but I think a majority of collectors are still waiting. Basically everyone who didnt preorder from amazon.

Which factory is making the Rattler Haslab - the old or the new?
Wondering if that could also be part of the delay, if the new factory is handling those orders too.

Toy trends, it feels like we're in a golden age and have been since the pandemic. Toy sales have been booming for years now, with adult nostalgia driving a lot of it. Retail toy stores couldn't survive competition from the internet or the onslaught of venture capitalism, but we're collectively buying lots of toys and there's an amazing variety of options.

Ignoring vibe shifts and just thinking about fashion:
2010s - Athleisure, Hipster Retro, 1980s revival
2020s - Loungewear/Oversized Comfort, Cottagecore

Social influencers and fast fashion have created a lot of short-term trends compared to earlier decades too. You'll probably need to wait until the 2040s to be able to look back and see what we retain a cultural memory of from the early 00s until now. The stuff from the decades you mentioned wasn't being worn by a majority of adults.

My understanding is only a few people got Dialtone by being really early Amazon preorders (IIRC he wasn't even listed as Dailtone -- it was the shipping codename) and those sold out pretty fast. Pretty much everyone else in the U.S. is either waiting or has imported the figure from elsewhere.

The gap in releases overall is having an impact on some of my buying patterns. I have been more likely to preorder figures I was 50/50 on just because I'm eager for a new hit of Classified. On the other side, I've probably started to stray a bit deeper into other lines too.

Once things started coming out in the second half of the year, it's going to be interesting.

I want that set pretty bad beachhead is in my top 5 joes and this one is different enough and looks phenomenal ..
