You know for the year I would love to box set releases of some of the sub teams.
Like a box set of the OG13, Marauders or Tiger Force would be really nice. Sorta like the combiner box sets they do for Transformers after they have released all the bots individually. |

I would love a box set of Mission Brazil, once they get around to tooling up Wet Suit and Mainframe. They should have enough parts to do a faithful Claymore. With cassette tape of course!

Box sets would be fun, but they'd almost certainly have to be con exclusives and would be super pricey ($120-$175 range). A Mission Brazil set would be roughly $130 for example. Not sure how popular they would end up being because of pricing.
Classified and the 6" scale just make more sense to have individual releases or 2-packs, where people have to build there sub teams or sets.

DT started this new 2025 thread last night and I posted in it. What happened to that one?
Nevermind, I read the first few pages. Well Happy New Year ladies and gents! |

Happy New Year all! Hopefully 2025 gets on track and we have another kick ass year of figs.
I posted in December over in the 2024 thread I was working on my year end gallery. Was hoping to be done by end of month. DID NOT HAPPEN. Boo to me. I am still plugging away while I have time, which has been less than expected. But hopefully by end of January I'll get it done. Goal is to shoot a couple show off shots for each figure, then do a class of 24 group shot, and some big battle funsies. This is where I'm at. I opened all of 2024 at once in December, one day. So I still haven't even messed with each fig yet, other than opening. Looks like there was 54 figs and 7 vehicles. Dragonfly isn't in below pics, but here. I kept that sealed for now because I may do a full pictorial with that front to back. It deserves some love. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, I'm pretty anti-box set. Doesn't make a ton of sense for this scale and market. This isn't Star Wars or Marvel where there is an ungodly stable of characters and variations. This line needs to be sustained at retail, which has been demonstrated to work through single-carded releases and two packs.
And, selfishly, there are a lot of Joe teams where I don't like all the members. My two favorite characters are Bazooka and Outback. I wanted both of their TF figures, I have zero interest in any others. |

I know we're getting a few of the remaining OG13 this year, but I hope to hear even just a name drop of the remaining few, along with Airtight and the missing figures from 85-87. I don't care much about vehicles going forward so those early year figures are top of my wants list.
As I continue to downsize and my collector space shrinks, I'm going to have to be a lot more selective going forward, but I'm still excited to see what the Classified team comes up with.. whether I'm personally interested in it or not. I hope the slow down doesn't affect reveals.

I received a notice from Pulse on Monday that Leatherneck and Dial Tone would be shipping soon. Nothing yet on the SAW Viper or Zandar.
I did pick up Leatherneck and one SAW Viper from Robot Kingdom right before Christmas. Other than the lack of ankle/calf swivel on the SAW Viper, it really is a fantastic figure. I can?t wait to get my SAW squad up. Leatherneck is cool too, although firmly in the generic soldier category. The more standard military figures are good because they really help balance out the crazier elements, so Leatherneck is a valued addition even though he was admittedly never one of my favorites. His loadout is solid and he does show as larger/bulkier than some of the other JOEs (for those of you worried about his size). Also, he has a really quality face sculpt and his hat and glasses fit on his head securely. Sometimes the removable hat molds are too thick-walled and look a little off/odd, but this one is damn near perfect. Last note: I think I bought basically at least one of everything from 2024 and my usual multiples on troop builders. I did a rough count and it was over 60 figures. The total number is higher but it?s not a competition lol. Seriously, the 2024 offerings put my collection into the stratosphere. So much representation in so many facets of JOE lore and my display is now pushing 250 figures. Learherneck, dialtone and zandar are gonna fill a quarter of my quota in the next week/month if 2025 is like 2024. Retro Flint, Retro Viper, Blowtorch, Footlose, SE V4 gets me to 8. Hopefully there are more of my wants coming in 2025. Last edited by GI FLINT; 01-02-2025 at 11:48 AM.. |

Fred Broca brought up the concept of "official hosting duties" for the main thread in 2022, when you started the 2023 thread. I liked the idea and now that I'm a mod, I want to implement it. At the end of this year, I'll have Mr. Hebime nominate someone to take over hosting duties for 2026 and so on... we'll try to make it a different person every year we can.

How about vehicle driver 2 or 3 packs? Starting about '86 or '87 there are a bunch of vehicles that I don't think we will ever get in Classified, multipacks might be a way to get caught up on some of those drivers. Hardtop & Payload, Backstop & Rumbler, Gyro-Viper & WORMS, etc.
