Mega Construx definitely feel like action figures. Impressive detail, accessories, and articulation for the size.

Damn it. I'll probably get it and start another line to collect now.

I've noticed some of those MOTU Mega sets (Talon Fighter etc), I almost picked one up but hesitated. I like the chunky, stylized but well sculpted figures. This Joe set is really tempting to me.

Hey neat!
Passing. No more brick-build Joes for me. Twice was enough for this son of '75. Gah! Remembrances of nightmares past! ![]() Last edited by TheRealDubya; 11-12-2024 at 06:32 PM.. |

If they sell figure packs, might have to grab a couple.

It?s comparable to Lego pricing, which is high, but it is Joe. It?s also cheaper than the Lego set I was going to get my son for Christmas instead?

This is way bigger than joe fans realize in my opinion.
My son loves his toys to this day, likes Joe, loves TF, but HIS love to compare to my love of ARAH, is megablocks. He has millions of the little figures, almost all the halo sets, and he can tell you the name of every guy, what they came with, what unit they are from..just like we did from ARAH. I have unique insight in this, because my son (and his buddies) all loved lego and mega. They look at Lego as "kiddie shit" and mega as "the good shit". Some of his COD sets are seriously impressive. And they are in my opinion better than Lego. I know there are brand defenders, but I'm a huge Transformers fan, but I woukd NEVER buy a lego Transformer, but I MIGHT buy a Mega one. My son has told me many times in our toy discussions that "Mega is the best..the figures are so articulated, and I love the size because they can make huge vehicles like the real ones in the game or series" I buy my son the Halo figures, and they all run $5 a pop. These are LICENSED. it literally says XPF-14. Ace. The part reuse on the figures from my experience will be minimal. This could open a door into joe, IF MARKETED RIGHT, and make Mega fans that are literally starving for sets, get sucked right in. They could offer single figure blind bags for troop building, single carded figures with more deluxe accessories like roadblock. This has potential to get a terrordrome, a GIJOE HQ, all the toys everyone wants, done in ARAH style. If marketed correctly. My son is in all these Mega reddits, boards, and he tells me the Mega fans are STILL hardcore, and dying for new sets. Older sets have skyrocketed in price due to demand. We may see a massive sell of these just because the Mega fans have been starving for new material for so long. So what, it's $80? Figure $5 a figure, $25 for the hiss, $35 for the Skystriker. Packaging, and really high quality full color instructions. To me, this is a VERY fair price. I will preorder this just to support the brand and give to my son. I think mega fans will jump on this just as much as Joe fans will. I think preorders will sell out instantly. Like I said, my son tells me Mega fans have been starving for new sets. The other thing Mega is well known for is making special parts to make the toy look like it should. Once these are made we will start to see all kinds of cool things, and then, on top of it all...this will be the most customizable joe toy ever made. This reminds me of the guy that customized all the entire joe and cobra figures out of Mega, and you would shit yourself if you haven't seen them. Google it. The guy made em all, and THEN you will get excited at this possibility.

I'm in for at least one. We have a lot of Mega around the house. It's not the weak knock-off some of you are remembering from back in the day (I remember it, too). They are first quality now. If it weren't for LEGO's licensed sets, all I would buy is Mega (ok, and Duplo for the smallest kids).
I recommend you don't sleep on this one if your only reservation is the brand name. Go buy a current Halo Mega Construx figure if you want to find out for $3-$5 (blind bag or pro series single).
