My list is based on the character, not the figure. Because an o-ring figure can be fixed/improved to match the character easily.
1. Scarlett 2. Duke 3. Cross Country 4. Sgt Slaughter 5. Leatherneck |

I don't know if there are characters I hate perse, but there are some characters I can do without. So these are probably my least favorites.
1. Lt. Stone (Extreme) - he's just a carbon copy of Duke and less interesting than Duke. Other characters with the codename Stone are more interesting. 2. Mayday (Extreme) - again is because she's just a carbon copy of Scarlett and not as interesting. Like with Stone, the other characters with the codename are more interesting. 3. Cross Country - not an interesting character and one of his designs makes him look more like a villain than a hero. 4. Crystal Ball - not really into hypnotists in general. 5. Akiko - why wasn't she just Jinx. |

Making this exercise about characters and not figures is pretty limiting from my perspective. Maybe thats because I am not as familiar with the decades worth of comics like a lot of you are. I was pretty young, so it was all about the toys and the designs for me.
Did the comics actually include most joe figures from the line? Like the whole line, not just the first few years. If not, then the argument is pretty much boiled down to “what are your least favorite main characters?”. What started as a convo about how dumb Raptor looks has turned into some wild takes about people hating Cobra Commander, Duke, and Snake Eyes. I mean, at that point just say you dont like GIJoe, lol. |

No forum rules have been violated as far as Im concerned, but lets leave it at that before this goes any further.

I did and that's how I ended up with Slice, Dice, Crimson Guard Immortal, and Desert Scorpion... but I thought the rest looked like shite. It was just a passing glance, though. Slice and Dice looked the least offensive of the Ninja Force... they looked like they could actually belong and besides... with Storm Shadow switching sides, Cobra needed a ninja (or two).

I'm definitely more interested in talking about figures and limiting characterization to file cards. There is so much other media that has been ahndled by so many different hands over the years, it is hard to say who some "characters" really are, IMHO.
Looking at my list from the other thread and my own reaction to other people's suggestions, I think my "least liked" criteria breaks down to the following: 1) Does the figure look like it belongs on its team? 2) Would the figure be fun to play with? 3) Is the figure aesthetically appealing or just plain ugly? All of these are purely subjective. But, I definitely have a personal distate for bright colors and chunky, over-sized accessories. That's why I'd take Raptor and Croc Master over orange Alley Viper or Metal Head any day of the week. This criteria is also why Deep Six (v1) was on my list. He had such limited articulation and looked more like a Fisher Price toy than a Joe. I hope if Classified makes him the deep sea suit is removable and he has a more conventional wet suit underneath. Dress blue Gung Ho is probably going to sneak into slot #6 on my least-liked pre-88 characters just because of playability. It's a fine looking figure and I'd love to see a set of dress uniform figures as part of the 60th line, but as a Joe it just made no sense. He wouldn't go into battle like that so what was I supposed to do with the figure? It's a perfectly fine figure aesthetically, but the concept just didn't have any playbility as a kid and the lack of other dress uniform characters to pose with makes it seem weird. |

If I had feelings that would hurt them. I sure as shit hope this thread stays fun and cool. I can already tell some Of you guys are getting genuinely sensitive on the subject matter and people?s opinions.
