All I want from the merchandising is some cool toys. However the movies does, just make the tools cool. There is a slight chance we might get some Joes to tag along in some of the studio series transformers stuff.

I see your point regarding SE: Origins but that is by far the cheapest toy budget movie Hasbro has done in the franchise. It cost a fraction of ROC and Retaliation. No doubt a crossover movie would have close to double the budget of ROC and Retaliation. Bigger movie equals more toys, which leads to Hasbro?s M.O. of saturating the market and hurting themselves.
I still hold SE: Origins as the outlier due to budget and the pandemic. I will put my money on Hasbro being overzealous like previous franchise movie tie ins. It will be ugly.

Sony is in talks to buy Paramount, so I wonder if this was just a ploy to get a higher price on the sale block. If TF:One is the direction they're going, I don't see why this would get greenlighted after such a long delay...unless it's to look "busy".

As I said in that same post, because it's a dual-license, I'm even questioning if we'll see figures for it in Classified, and not its own line (that would scale with Classified). Isn't this technically still a Transformers movie, just guest starring GI Joe? If so, I'd be surprised if it wasn't handled like the TF/O-Ring crossovers, leaving the Joe team alone, or maybe just borrowing a team member for design assistance to ensure compatibility.

Now it?s worth noting that Lorenzo Bonaventura does have a working relationship with Sony already. He was the executive producer of Madame Web (which got a chuckle from me at the theater when I saw it).

Would be fun if they used it as an excuse to play around with M.A.S.K scale Joes to be passengers in Transformer vehicles. Wouldn't compete with or dilute Classified, and would give us a reasonable chance of eventually seeing an affordable, vehicle-centric Joe line if they do well. I don't really have room for a vintage or Classified Tomahawk right now, but I bet I could find a place for a 1:24 one.

They won?t haunt classified to make movie stuff.
Generations hasn?t gonna away with the last couple of transformers movies. Hasbro realizes the movies attract people wanting movie merchandise but also attract those wanting nostalgia and other products from the same brand. Heck that?s partially why classified came out before the snake eyes release, just like we saw the Animated D&D characters come out before the movie figures that were also part of Golden Archive. I do think Cobra might be the big bad in this film though. The Bumblebee and ROTB films have not included Megatron and I don?t see him being introduced in this film. They?re still playing a bit coy with the bay movie connections.
Maybe have cobra steeling transformers tech to make transforming BATs or they?re using some Transformers artifact that?s on earth for some reason to power a big weapon. Quote:
Paramount?s future is rather questionable at the moment so anything not filming is basically up in the air.

I don't know, the more Transformers movies we get without Bay, the more they outwardly go against what he established. Bear in mind Unicron in the Bay films was Earth and the entire plot of Last Knight was Quintessa wanting to kill Unicron and destroy Earth in the process. In Rise of the Beasts, the Terrorcons are trying to obtain the Transwarp Key to prepare Earth for Unicron. So it wouldn't surprise me if Paramount decides to go use Megatron in a way that contradicts the Bay films. Transformers (2007) was used as reasoning for why he didn't appear in Bumblebee, but that's largely because the Cybertron scenes were shot (motion capture) when Bumblebee was intended to be a prequel then Last Knight did poorly so Bumblebee was repurposed as a franchise reboot. Hence the end credits scene of Optimus Prime and the Autobots arriving on Earth in 1986 when in the Bay films Bee & Hot Rod were the only Autobots on Earth until 2007 when Prime and the others arrived on Earth for the very first time.
