Now...before you go all typical Josh Z and start listing the "reasons" why my opinion is "wrong" (because after all, this isn't made for me) remember that I am a Transformers fan too. So technically, it is made for me. This is a Transformers movie targeted to kids. Transformers: Prime was a a kids show that I found quite enjoyable. Mainly because, stylistically I found it interesting and it was very well written. T:One seems to rely soley on near constant slapstick in order to appeal to those with the attention span of a goldfish. That, in my opinion, is hot steamy garbage. Don't get me wrong; I'm ever so happy you and your son are thrilled with this first entry of, what may very well be, a new franchise. I hope your son forces you, and thousands of other parents like you, to buy every single figure produced so that this film has the same effect on the fandom that Michael Bay's garbage movies had. More toys and greater exposure to new audiences. After all...Had Bay's movies not been so successful I doubt the SS86 line would have ever come to fruition. See. It IS possible to think something that is utterly and completely unappealing can bear desirable fruit. Mar-kit ex-poz-ure;I understanz itz. Quote:
A slap in the face to a franchise based on a toy line marketed to children under 10? Riiiiiiiight...
You are a ridiculous person. What I can't quite figure out is whether you're really oblivious to how absurd you sound, or if this is all an act and you're just trolling us. Either way, it's a big waste of everybody's time.

Enough bitching might get them to revisit this monstrosity as they did when the sonic trailer was first released. Fans have power, we just can’t put it in your hands Josh Zzzzzzz Transformers Prime holds the crown round here amongst real fans.

Why do we still act like GI Joe was ever R-rated? The first couple issues? Where they faced goofy ass robots, too?
The SAW Viper thing I remember for years everyone I knew either HATED that moment or loved it because they hated Doc and Quick Kick. I literally can't remember the OG comic being anything beyond PG-13 at best. Yet there seems to be this notion that GI Joe has always been from the get-go and must now be Saving Private Ryan or Thin Red Line or something. TMNT originally was hyper violent because it was a literal parody of 80s Daredevil. GI Joe couldn't find extreme violence even in issue one if it got hit with it. There is way more tolerance for a violent TMNT than there would be for GI Joe. Especially since GI Joe is about military dudes with guns. Last edited by IzzyTipsy; 04-18-2024 at 02:53 PM.. |

Also the saw viper sequence has always been kinda cringey to me personally. Doesn?t fit the franchise but also didn?t raise the stakes m. Weird moment to fit in more toys in a way that?s worse than the battle of autobot city in transformers the movie. If you want gritty Transformers, Slice, pick up the Last Stand of the Wreckers trade paperback. It?s better than prime.

Baroness tied to Serpy's HISS? Then we get Serpy's POV right before Zartan's arrow drills him in the noggin. GI Joe could GET violent. But that wasn't it's nature. Because it wasn't it's nature when shit DID go down it made an impact. That's what I want to see. I'll say it again. Animated Classified series by Studio Mir. Quote:
And even then, it?s not like the mirage comics were most people?s introduction to TMNT. The Cartoon is almost a different a propriety than the where they started with mirage.

It was just a desperate,"we're out of ideas" gambit. Yet some people like it and it sold a bunch of books. Last Stand of The Wreckers is great. But it's not "better" than Prime. It's different.

Other than "The SAW Viper Thing" GI Joe was never "hyper violent". I don't want hyper violent GI Joe. I think that takes away from the story. I want something in the vein of Resolute. Something with stakes. But it needs to feel like GI Joe.

This unfunny humor shit they put into movies now has got to stop.

Sometimes that "grass is greener" turns out to be a yard full of weeds. Same shit with Star Wars and everybody yelling at Lucas to "go away" and even, in some very sick cases, "die." We know how that went, and how they all feel now. ;)
