I have the Star Wars Archives book, which is a really big boy and weighs 16 lbs. This sounds like it may be like that. Definitely a coffee table only book that's not designed for a book shelf lol

Like I said in my post earlier, I am thrilled to have it.
It just concerns me when trying to pick it up the hardcover front and back bend / bow very much. It wonderfully detailed and put together though. Last edited by JackKnight73; 12-29-2023 at 01:39 AM.. |

You are all making this sound like something I need.
Just not sure if I want to spend the $175 unplanned luxury tax. |

I don't post here often. I'm a transformers guy who loves 80's toys and dabble in GI Joe. Couldn't resist this kickstarter. Mine showed up yesterday. It's HUGE and heavy. The covers definitely bow from all the weight. I'm basically going to throw away the paper slipcover -it can barely wrap around this thing. Thank goodness for the cloth ribbon to pull on to get the book out of the hardcase. It's an amazing labor of love and will take hours to pour through...but agree -should have been made a bit smaller in overall dimensions-won't fit on any bookcase I own (wife is not happy) and 2 volumes would have made this a lot more manageable to peruse. The large size also makes the fold out layout pages scary to open up and refold in -at some point they will get creased if not put in properly. Some of the layout decisions also seem inconsistent. Some pages have 2 photos of the toys in package and near the end of the book some are crammed in. I'm not complaining and would never have been able to even think about attempting such a project -but it's not as user friendly as it could be

I had kind of the same mentality, but what got me to pre-order was that the profits help 3djoes pay the bills for the website. What's happened to yojoe.com broke my heart, and I do NOT want to see that happen to 3djoes.com.

I got my copy today. It is a monster! Definitely won’t fit on a bookshelf. I can’t wait to look through it though. The outside is beautiful.

Keep in mind I am a relatively new Joe collector. Got back into the brand with Classified after picking up a few things here and there since childhood. Guessing they just couldnt afford to keep the site running? |

Got mine today. I guess I need to lift more weights. Still pretty cool.

I inquired a couple of years ago about purchasing the site and how much it costs to maintain yearly but never got a response to my email. I was very serious about it because I think it is a great reference for ARAH figures.

Someone else can correct me, but I think just as the site was starting to do updates and stuff a new owner swooped in and bought the site/domain and then just let it rot with no intention of upkeeping it.
Or something to that effect? Someone else on here probably knows the full story.
