I actually did paint both Flint and Lady Jaye! Not just the heads but the arms, too. They look... better? The arm joints can't really take paint though so it still looks off.

Didn't they already try that with those DIC figures that got so few pre-orders, that they cancelled the wave?

Everything they sell tends to get a big markdown on BBTS about a year after the fact. I'm not sure how much paint you can add before the figures look bulky but I wonder if auto primer would stick to the joints after they were sanded. Again, more work than you likely want to do to a $55 figure.

I think they did. *Seems* like it was about the time that the unpainted faces were causing blowback and BF remarked that he didn't see anything wrong with them.

Which makes me say "Why not do a proper Snake-Eyes?" TF and PP seem as "why" as the DIC wave in terms of "this either saves or destroys the line".

Why not Serpentor? Or General Hawk? Or Spirit?
My own personal take, based 100% on opinion, is that BF lost interest in the U! line after the poor response to the unpainted heads and moved on to the R+ line. Issue some repaints, say the fans didn't support the line, then kill it. Or, next year there'll be dozens of new U! figures and you all can take turns reminding me of this post.

Yeah I didn't get around to messing with primers. Basically just did my best to mix a color that matched the arm joint plastic. Not opposed to doing the work if I knew for sure it was going to be effective. Don't think there is enough tolerance in the joint to take a layer of paint without it getting scraped off.

Yes am hoping these hit BBTS and then go on sale at some point. Is this basically a repaint line now? I know there was some new tooling with Red Laser, but prior to that it was what, wave 5?

You're likely right on the tolerance between joints. I guess it depends on if you are going to pose the figures on a shelf or if they're to be put to good use like proper toys.
I'm not sure what the plans are for the line, just that BF said in an interview (to paraphrase) that these two figures' success could determine if there are more figures.
