Speaking of con exclusives, has there been any hints as to what SDCC and PulseCon will be this year?
Last year was a little disappointing. I hope they learned something from the CST and knock it out of the park. Hopefully it's something that rivals 2022 Serpentor and Mindbender. Quote:
No clue and my commentary may just be my biases. Mutt & Junk are a great set, one I gave a 9 or 10/10. I would be shocked if they only sold 500 of them on Pulse and they're selling 9K Beachheads or whatever it was. But we all know Beachhead is elite, so maybe that makes sense, ha. |

I'm honestly unsure why Beach Head is selling so well. Just due to the fact many probably never found the CI version?
He looks OK, but as someone with the CI version, I just can't bring myself to do it. This one still has crappy green guns, too. And no beret. |

Some figures I can do multiples of and others I am content with one version only. This would be one of them. |

I really want an OG Hawk.
If they decide he needs a Steel Brigade helmet, I hope they make it gold like the Steel Brigade Commander helmet. I know they have been throwing those helmets in with some of the original lineup, and it would make sense to go that route with him.

Emily and Lenny are both great at inserting their own personalities (or stage personas) into their presentations. Whether that works for you is a matter of personal preference.
The one thing I feel is lacking across most of Hasbro's brand presentations is "lore knowledge" for lack of a better term. They often focus exclusively on the physical product and don't give any detail about the character the toy represents. I would love to see them add to the reveals by speaking to cool story elements associated with the figures and how certain design choices are call outs to those stories. Even just leaning into the fiction and using consistent names for gear and weapons would go a long way in world building the fiction of the Classified Universe or showing ties to the real world. For example, referring to the HISS"s main weapons as "Diablo Cannons," or when presenting Tripwire with Apsara, they could have spent a quick minute explaining how African pouch rats are being used to locate mines without detonating them, or they could have included bits about Dusty (Ron Rudat) and Tunnel Rat (Larry Hama) being loosely based off people on the original Joe creative team. There are so many cool things going on with the some of these figures and I wish their presentation would lean just a little more into the world of the brand. Given the lack of filecards, gear guides, or blueprints in Classified, I suspect this is a conscious decision, but, as someone who fell in love with the world of G.I. Joe as a kid, I see it as a missed opportunity.

Probably combination people newer to the line and people who want the closest thing we're going to get to a v1 figure upscale. I'm still OK with my CI version too, but I'm not a Beach-Head superfan.

I think retro Beach Head is probably also doing well because:
- closer to the classic design compared to the CI version - classic-inspired color deco (nostalgia is very real) - retro figure has a much better buck than the CI figure used - and it's Beach Head lol
