Regarding the Genesis' genres that were ahead of the Snes, shmups for sure. I would say platformers and action games were just as good on the Genesis as the Snes. Fighting games had slightly better controls on the Genesis too (the Snes lagged just ever so slightly on games like MK and SF2, though SF2 Turbo and SSF2 were able to fix this issue).

I had both systems back then and loved them equally as much. IMO, they each had their own quirks, pros, cons, flaws and advantages, but if you only got one system and not the other, you were cheating yourself out of some truly great games. Both systems had great libraries and exclusive titles. I never understood the whole Sega vs Nintendo thing, at least for the player/consumer. Why not enjoy both?

All this talk makes me want to list my Top 20 fav Genesis and Snes games now...so! lol

Ain't that always how it happens? If you remembered, the bidding would have gone crazy. But since you forgot, it sold cheap. I can't tell you how many times that's happened to me. Irritating to no end.

The brand doesn't have future targeting adults because that's what it's already doing for the most part and going full adult will only lead to a quicker death of the franchise.

Other people have mentioned this in previous posts and I agree... I honestly don't care if the brand dies with us. It doesn't need to continue beyond my lifespan, because I'm not going to be around to see, or care, about it, anyway. Kids can have their TikToks and Fortnites and the next generations can have their own things, as well. As long as I get a good selection of 6" Joes before I die, I'm happy.

I don't see much distinction if any between a GI Joe for kids vs a GI Joe for adults. I think Hasbro is simply listening more to adult collectors when it comes to product design and wants because the company eventually realized that adult collectors ARE the primary consumers of the brand, which plays a part in the price increases, since the toys are now collectibles for grownups with larger discretionary incomes. I don't think there's really much they can do to entice kids into the market. Physical play with action figures is like hunting wooly mammoths.
