Was the Dragonfly around 17-mos from Haslab to delivery? Not sure. I remember some being dissuaded to go-in on another Haslab this year when they hadn't yet rcvd last year's.

Mainframe is cool (to me) because he seems like he could've fit with the OG13. He isn't flashy in a time when Joe and COBRA were getting flashier each year. Seems like the comics even presented him as an old 'Nam vet who wasn't in his prime like some Joes.

They've been neglecting water and cold weather joes for a while though and it shows with hasbro struggling to sell retro snow serpents and eels.

Time to get Wet-Suit, Deep Six, Iceberg, and Blizzard out there.

edit: I kinda wish they gotten one of those out there as a deluxe instead of doing so many cobra ones. Oh well

For a line that started out with generic green army men, 1985/86 really made it POP. Airtight, Flint, Hawk, Mainframe, Bazooka, Sci-Fi, Psych-Out, Quick Kick, Crimson Guards, Alpine, Dial Tone, Lowlight.

Personally, I think / hope Mainframe gets a full new sculpt. He's unique. He deserves it.

Agreed on a new sculpt for MF. I thought they made Dial-Tone look muscular for his role.


I'm one of those weirdos who'd be curious to see a line of the "colorful" characters in uniforms like the OG13 wore or all the figures in actual dress uniforms.

Claymore would be way more interesting if he didn't share in Footloose's diabolical trousers.

So I guess they have some spare lower they can use for him (knowing them it would be Outback's legs 'again') But even painting camo on top of the swamp covers would help.. as it stands Footloose looks like he's wearing some odd agricultural trousers.

Since people are lementing on their wishes for 2025.
I'd like a Viper sub-group that is worth getting excited about.
The Techno-Viper and Night Creeper both could have been a lot better.

So I think they owe use some awesome something "cool" like a Data Viper or a H.E.A.T. Viper i'd even take an Incinerator.

Though the real stand out lack for me is the Rock Viper. But they really need to pack it in with the rubbish accessories it is getting kinda annoying when a good figure gets ruined or compromised by poor accessory choices.

Another wish I have for 2025 is that they pack it in with the tiny heads Jinx and The new Storm Shadow are both complete pinheads.
A really small head is barely excusable when they are wearing a removable helmet - otherwise it makes them look like a Goomba from the Bob Hoskins Mario Movie.

It's bonkers to me that Wetsuit hasn't been done yet. It would make sense for him to come with a Devilfish since that originally didn't come with a driver and all Classified vehicles include one, so he'd be a logical pick.

How do we know they're struggling to sell them? Both of those figures are also reissues with subtle paint differences (if at all) from their original Classified releases. From my understanding the EEL was chosen for the retro line because the Amazon exclusive sold so well that people had a hard time getting them.

I didn't buy the retro EEL and only got one of the Snow Serpent simply because I already had multiples of both from the first run.

Not sure we can conclude that water and weather specific Joes don't sell because 2 reissues might be hanging around on pegs at your local walmart.

Anecdotally, I've seen some collectors comment that they don't like or want snow themed characters or vehicles because they didn't grow up somewhere where it snows. This is kinda silly to me. I didn't grow up scuba diving, but I still think EELs and Wetsuit are cool as hell. I guess I don't necessarily intend to play with my figures in the snow. I'd also be waiting quite a while down here in Florida, ha.

Random thought, but I wouldn't mind seeing some new, thicker female characters in this line. I was walking behind some soldiers at my local mall yesterday (there's a recruitment center in the mall). Two guys and a girl. The girl looked strong. Not fat. Just strong. I wouldn't mind seeing some female Joes/Cobras who weren't thin. I think a nice strong lady Dreadnok would be cool as well.
