The only difference is that fans actually liked Scarlett and Mindbender in the cartoons and comic so keeping their classic appearances is the safest course of action. Goofy guys who received little to no characterization have nothing to lose by having their designs tweaked.
The goofier the better. I reluctantly bought Raptor and honestly, after opening him, I put him in the bottom of a parts bin to probably never be seen again. I utterly despise him along with Road Pig's stupid face. Probably the two least favorite figures of the year. But maybe I'm just in a bad mood due to Star Wars toy arguing all week. |

I did cancel a couple of extra Ecto-1's myself the number didn't change right away (up or down) so I guess they add to the total in clusters - rather than in real time. so it got above 18,000 then dipped back down to : 16184 which is comfortably over the backing total at least.
I wonder what their take away will be about things like this that just scrape past the finishing post : Especially in regard to Tiers ? Much to my surprise the left over stragglers of Ghostbusters figures have not really sky rocketed in price.. so I guess the assertion that many of the people who backed it already had the figures is in play (I didn't get them as I already had the Mattel ones - so didn't see the need at the time) I did manage to get the 3.75" scale Ecto-1 in the Sales too - no figures though unfortunately... So heck knows where I can find them in stock they were rather popular. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...&LH_Complete=1 They can have it because a 4 pack of OG Ghostbusters is supposed to be coming. Emily was trying to keep the exact plans secret and give vague hints but Matt Cardona told the world in a podcast that Hasbro told him a 4 pack is on the way. I don't think he was supposed to say anything but... |

Leaks vs no leaks in this thread.
when figures/parts are leaked, people can mull over the parts to see where they've been reused or where they can be reused in the future for weeks/months until the full figure is officially released. When a full figure is officially revealed, people can mull over all the individual parts referencing where they've been reused before or will be reused in the future. Eh. Not much difference to me either way. When figures are revealed, they're typically renders. Which are cool to see but the actual figures are certainly more interesting to see. So renders have a limited impact on me. Other than the initial rush. In some ways, the renders take away from the impact of when the actual figures are shown. So yeah, it's all a mixed bag of what the sequence of reveals is. I just feel bad for Hasbro reps when stuff is leaked right before their livestreams. |

It's funny I saw an Egon at a local toy show a few weeks ago for $25 and almost bought him but had a feeling they were going to do a re-release.

I suppose. But the goofy guys were all I could get in stores so they hold a special place in my heart.

I had the opposite experience where I never owned the '87 Raptor or '88 Road Pig, but I like both in Classified scale and am looking forward to picking up Crystal Ball when I can. Classified in general had a lot of misses for me this year, but both of those figures are fun.
I like getting different looks at things in development, even if leak photos aren't always flattering. We still get to see the official photography showing the product in the most favorable way later anyway. I love them both the weirder the better and those 2 are both weird I also like prototypes I used to collect them years ago .. renders are cool but physical pieces are still what gets me .. Quote:
But that?s why I had to buy him he?s so ugly I bought 2 of him I liked him so much and all of his accessories Plus I have a soft spot for 1/12 animals When he was young his momma had to tie a steak around his neck just so the dog would play with him ..

Looks like the real swine to get in the UK is Tully's terrible Night.. I am seeing some good "complete collection" lots that look like they may suit me down to the ground - since I don't have anything yet.. so I may look into that. Looks like the giftsets are the real swine to get though even more so that Egon.
I don't mind getting the "light suited" ones they'd be very well suited to sitting inside Ecto One and dressing up the look of the Ecto-1 and then if they new giftset is a nicer more accurate colouration and not just a straight up reissue then they might even make it to clearance or a discount of some sort "before" Ecto 1 even ships. ///////// I wonder if we see any complements to the Rattler or Dragonfly early or if it will initially only be complements to the Dragonfly - though there is that Missile System still they Vamp could benefit from having.. hopefully the AWE Striker also has a tow hook to use it too. ///// I still am trying to wrap my brain around the idea that Hasbro thinks a Classified Scale APC wouldn't be popular ? I'd say that it is so VERY retro and is the closest thing in Gi Joe to the iconic vintage Star Wars figure carry cases. Maybe I just like the idea as I do play with my toys.. so I sit and think "what am I going to do with this". & the APC just feels like something there is a long list of things I can do with it - even more so with a variable mode interior. (i.e. fold down seats so it can carry something like a Ram Cycle or two in the back). It might even be a prime example of where the intersection of Classified and Retro sensibilities could be the most useful. Like the Retro "justifies" the use of a cloth covering - but making it really cloth means it can be partially pulled back (as was often done on covered trucks) and making the support ribs removable means you could use it to transport all sort of things like a Jump platform, small vehicles (even something like a Skyhawk or Locust potentially) or even a Missile unit. Alternatively they could sell accessories for it like stretchers, a medical cover for the back and make it a evac ambulance. So Those are just a few initial thoughts of what you could do with one - just by making sure it has the ability to be striped down a bit. I would be a bit sad it if it was just dismissed out of hand. Though it does make one wonder.. is there enough of a market for someone else to get away with doing one other than Hasbro - since it is 'more or less' based on a real vehicle & if they are genuinely not interested - why not have the consumer benefit from that lack of interest by other means. |

Did a simple mod to grunt. Took some web gear from stalker and painted brown to give him an OG look. Turned out really good, I think. Still think that head sculpt is as awful as falcon's was, so may try to find a better one
