I must be the odd ball. I loved the GI Joe cereal. After it was discontinued, I found that the cereal they had as a tie in for the Robin Hood movie (Kevin Costner) tasted nearly identical. Had my mom buy several boxes.

That and the Pac Man mac & cheese are some of my core food memories as a kid.

If they keep making them I think we'd be due an Astronaut and an actual Pilot - but that a jet Pilot or Helicopter Pilot.

Hasbro being Hasbro I would expect them to do a Female Pilot "unless" they specifically want to re-use one of their "suitable" male moulds.

I would suggest a "generic male" Marine.. or similar.. Maybe a US Ranger or "Army Airborne" would be nice too.

I would be VERY surprised if they went "International" and did an SAS guy though... even though there is some logic to that as they'd make a great companion piece for a lot of reasons as well as well "Call of Duty" is in significant parts SAS-centric so they are kinda on-trend for that reason.

I can see the response to "SAS dude" being positive though.. and I could really give a ton of reasons why despite not being American Military it makes some sense in the Gi Joe context anyway as joint operations or trainers or just really for legacy reasons.

I don't think they'd mark one as "Gi Joe Presents Action Man" though.. they could do that too.

But it just seems to make some sense to me what with those Red Shadows stickers on the Rattler, & Quarrel being 'still' marked as Z-Force.

It might raise an eyebrow but I don't think people would outright "hate it".
I just think it makes sense to have it for world building purposes almost like another faction out there like Destro is both his own thing and part of Cobra. & it makes even more sense if they really do plan to try to creep in some more Palitoy Action Force references too.

I guess we are getting close to the thorny question of if Gi Joe is
1. An international reaction force
2. A part of the American Military "only"
3. A bit of both or a part of the American Military with people from elsewhere on "Attachment" like Glenda, Quarrel or Big Ben.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of Apple Pizza however - is it a main course or a desert ?.

Considering they already went off book with the Lady Sniper and they're pushing past the anniversary year, my ideal super kitted-out "serious" figure would actually be a Cobra Trooper, maybe with base figure in the pajamas but with some modular armor, some kind of heavy gun option, different heads, tech mask and bandana, and some different helmet accoutrements.

That idea would work well for a Heavy Weapons Iron Grenadier too.
But I think realistically they'd put such a thing in normal Gi Joe packaging if they were to do it.

Yours and mine both my friend - I am in for nearly all of that, minus retro R&R and Starduster, and I am in for doubles at minimum of Law & Order, Nemesis, SAW Viper...and way too many (8, maybe 10 depending upon how they turn out?) retro Vipers I suspect!
