The Ferret broke 20k in units sold. It was also available multiple times. I ordered 3 on April 11. 2 on April 23 and 3 on June 11. Ferret was revealed at WonderCon and first on Pulse for preorder on April 4 (along with the VAMP).
https://www.facebook.com/story.php?s...00064670020603 I was just going by what I saw shortly before the new Pulse went live and it was 19700+. I saw it pop in and out briefly as people made cancellations before it shipped and it was usually 1 or 2 available out of the limit of 5 which was gone in a couple mintes. Even if it broke 20k, still less than the VAMP and all HasLabs so it was a small run. I'd think whatever was available in June were payment issues or more cancellations before shipping. For what it's worth - I had plenty of notice of the Ferret being in stock. I didn't care to order it. Maybe there are a lot more like me. Not everyone is a completist that buys multiples of every item.

Check out Jeffro's numbers. Broke 20k, and the availability was a lot longer than either of us thought, restocked a few more times from April through early June. I guess the "average collector" you're referring to, is someone who's not really into a line, given they ignore emails, phone pushes (all part of a Pulse account - this was a Pulse exclusive), a company's convention announcements, promotional videos, social media posts. So at that point, who really cares if they miss out on a product they obviously really don't care that much about?
And after all that, if they still really want it, they can go to eBaY. Paying secondary market prices for product you missed out on, or weren't in the game when it was released, it's part of the game. Always has been. Even in the old days, whether it was tracking it down and paying out the ass for it through a LCS, or a convention (pre-internet). Although I’m Glad to see common sense still exist amongst a VERY select few. This makes too much sense , therefore it will be deemed useless to most mentalities.

Ive said it before and people get mad if you want it you?ll get it the missed out mentality is killing me .. 90% of the time Its their own fault not referring to anyone on here when i say that .. and nam said it right there is always a secondary option ebay or whatever most of us longtime collectors have all played that game once or twice .. you have to put in effort if you want some of this dumb shit . @ least i dont hear many people in here talking about their grail item/toy . WTF is that even about FFS

I just purchased 2 of the 60th female marine snipers on Ebay, since I didn't want to wait. The seller also has Alpine, Roadpigg, V2 Storm shadow in stock. Sellers name is Krauserri on ebay. They are based in Hong Kong and I they always get figures early. Some characters, I don't want to wait for, I order on eBay and just pay a little extra to have certain characters early.

I guess it depends. Back when I got into collecting Sideshow's 1:6 The Dead, I came in late and their first figure, Patient Zero, had had a very limited run and was long sold out. So for the longest time, that was a grail for me to "fill the hole" so-to-speak. There was a bootleg Patient X knockoff that kept popping up on eBaY all the time, but never an original. Finally I saw the real deal listed and wound up paying 125% over the original price. Well worth it and I still have him in my collection. But it's certainly not something I'd brag about. The concept's entirely subjective. lol

It just gives scalpers an excuse to pump up the prices even further. Who in their right mind is gonna blow over 150 bucks on an ATV [well over 200 now in the aftermarket]? Unfortunately I know exactly who and they'll definitely try to defend this stuff, further encouraging more scalping behavior. |

I still think it is reasonable to call a Range Viper "Rare".. can I get one if I really really want too.. Yeah I could likely find someone on ebay willing to send me one with the postage being rather high, and unlikely to find someone selling say 4 to make that more reasonable.
& so I wait and see if I can get one "eventually"... Patience is usually rewarded. But it isn't like Haabro Pulse UK makes it easy when they list things for 1 per customer, won't sell them elsewhere, and things can sometimes sell out in an hour or less. (which is likely more down to terrible stock levels than high demand). An additional run of Vamps and Ferrets would be "nice" they did sell out pretty quickly after all. |

So Road Pig has been one of my Top 5 Cobras ever since I got him back in Spring '88 (only BACoCo, Big Boa, Croc Master and Hydro-Viper were as loved by me then). I have been envisioning how he would look ever since that rumor list dropped late last year. The anticipation was killing me to see him!
I have to say as a die hard Road Pig fan, I think his body from the neck down is awesome and captures what the original looked like, especially the card art and promo art where he was not ripped, but looked beefy with lots of muscles but hidden under a lot of fat. He was never jacked like a Mr. Olympia. I also welcome the tattoos, although the pig one is semi-campy. But he is a Dreadnok, they had tattoos in the '80s so if any characters should be covered in tattoos now, it's the 'Noks! Here comes the disappointed part of me...yes, it's the head(s). I'm just not feeling it so far. I think his old art gave him older features and he had a big round nose, chubby cheeks and big, fat lips. He was ugly and also looked menacing as hell and not nice (the figure used Hasbro's senior design director Don DeLuca's facial likeness and name as well ** pictured below **) This Classified face seems too angular for his body I guess? And his facial features just don't feel like RP to me. I think he looks more goofy than intimidating and resembles Shrek. BUT like Toa mentioned, maybe the missing beauty shots is making it worse. I will wait until he is my hands before casting final judgement, he may end up looking fantastic. ** PHOTO OF DON DELUCA AT HASBRO CIRCA 1992. DELUCA'S FACE WAS USED FOR ROAD PIG'S ARAH FIGURE ** Quote:

The fact that Road Pig AND Starduster both don't, were announced during the same period is and are the first two non-HasLabs worries me. Hoping I am 100% wrong. Quote:
My ideal version of Golobulus would be detachable at the waist so he can plug into his weird floating pod thing, since that's how he appeared on the OAMCC box (as a render? or maybe a prototype figure? or just art? it's hard to tell for me) but then also a snake lower body that can coil around to "stand".
And maybe even a pair of actual legs. This is exactly what I have been hoping for too, including regular feet. The Tiger Paw also dropped unannounced and at like 4am or 5 PST, so like a good half the country and the entire west coast were probably still asleep.

At least we know that Road Pig's diorama pics exist... they just didn't release them for some reason (some might speculate that might be because they show another character that they have not shown in physical form yet.. even if it is something like Dial-Tone of Leatherneck.. that could be the reason they decided to delay it a bit until the foe he's fighting is also 'out in the wild' finished product image wise).
I will admit that is a bit odd since they do "preview things" on purpose sometimes like the Ferret driver or the Arctic bat were. But maybe they put a vehicle in the background they have not announced yet and they didn't want to spoil the surprise. That said I do think some diorama pics for Night Force Crazy Legs and co would have been nice to have too. Even if they are only using them background players for a future Night force Release. Night Force Jason "Shockwave" Faria & Night Pursuit Cycle also lacks "diorama shots too". Though I guess one can pre-suppose the style they'd be from the back of pack shot. |
