With that in mind, it could be why I enjoy Classified so much. It's like they took these dopey looking O-Ring figures (as a kid they looked great, but looking back, they don't hold up for me, just my opinion, don't kill me) and took them seriously. They sized them up, added more detail, gave them a real world feel and turned them into mini pieces of art.

So ya, maybe I fall into the "wanting these things to grow up with us" category. But my imagination around the characters doesn't feel that much more advanced than the adventures I was cooking up as a 10 yr old.

Finally got around to un-boxing and assembling my Stinger today and it looks great, but... it just looks more like a "toy" to me than the VAMP does for some reason. It's super cool and all but to be honest I was more excited with the driver as the Cobra trooper is one of my favorite figures in the line and the Stinger driver colorway is just really nice looking. Still happy that I got it but it just doesn't resonate with me like the VAMP does.

In one sense ; yes.

But there is a distinct difference in the amount of things you could do with a Swamp Skier compared to what you could do with a Thunder Machine.

Perhaps if they make a Thunder Machine in the next Year they can include a tow hitch and it could perhaps pull the parts bin behind itself (if they included it that is) That little crate is a particular example why I almost see the swamp skier as a playset piece more than as a vehicle.

Otherwise the swamp skier is "Something you stand next too Zartan to add visual interest" It doesn't feel like he's intrinsically "spiritually connected" to his vehicle in the way that Wild Weasil is perhaps to a Rattler or Copperhead to the Water Moccasin (still feels weird having him without his vehicle). Not that means I expect anyone else to be using so, much as it means that When I think of Ace... I think of the Sky Striker (even though he had plenty of other figures) but when I think of Zartan... I do not think of the Swamp Skier at all really... I almost forgot it existed at times.

I must have misunderstood you. When you said "Set dressing" I assumed you were referring to Classified vehicles as they relate to Classified figures...not...not all that. Because...well I haven't eaten any mushrooms today. It's still early over here.

Today was a good day! Got the Stinger first thing from FedEx and then a *very* nice Tanker's gift of a reasonably-priced Oncccccccce-a-Man CC this afternoon. Delightful. I *was* thinking of putting up the HISS, Trouble Bubble, Ferret, and Baroness' dumb cycle all together, but boy oh boy do I not have room on my little shelf for it. I might still try.

I'm not usually a packaging guy but Cobra Commander's package is freaking sweet. I wish Serpenter and Mindbender's had been packaged the same way.
