It annoys me that my office/collector space is in a never ending state of flux. It's exciting getting new stuff but I definitely understand the pain it is trying to work it all in over and over again. I can relate to that. Big time first world problem but I can understand the mindset 100%.

I am kind of the opposite here. It might be because I only collect 1-2 lines (give or take some miscellaneous pickups). But I like integrating new stuff into my display because it gives me opportunities to "play" with my toys. I will often use this opportunity to pose em up in different ways, or swap gear, etc. I also get a lil dopamine rush when I find ways to add more figures within the same cubby or space in a way that is impressive or agreeable to me. Then when I'm in my office on Mondays and Fridays, I appreciate my collection more because I have "new" things to look at if that makes any sense.
The other night I spent an hour dusting my one shelving unit and reconfiguring it to accommodate the Stinger. It was an enjoyable hour, ha. Having a steady flow of great Classified figures is definitely worth the headaches of constantly rearranging.. lol... so definitely not a complaint.

Wait until a line is "dead" before you begin to create a display? What? That makes no sense to me at all. I WANT to work on displays because, it's fun and I enjoy a line when it's alive and well. If I ever get to the point I sit everything in a corner until it's dead and gone then I'm OUT. Because that's dumb to me. I'd walk by this huge stack, get bummed and realize I have no idea what I'm even doing. But it damn sure ain't connecting with the line. Honestly, I don't know one single "collector" that says,"I'm going to wait until XXXXX is done before I display anything." That's just...depressing.
Honest question; Do you not have any Classified figures or vehicles opened and displayed? It just doesn't seem like you actually enjoy the line or connect with it. I've had a lot of trouble accepting the blue and grey but I cannot get past the white. I think I've finally decided to paint/remove the white. Maybe that'll fix my issues with the Scout.

Trying to have everything out at once was giving me headaches. I finally settled on only having a few figures and vehicles set up at once to avoid letting Classified take over too much of my office. It's fun to change out what's on display, keeps it fresh and gives me a good excuse to play.
Part of that was also the realization of how much stuff I had in the garage. It just seemed pointless to have accumulated so many collectibles I couldn't even look at because they were in storage bins. So it was an easy deal to agree to.

The new Joe vehicle has to be the Skyhawk. We know they're giving cobra a claw and a fang next year and there's no way they're going to not give the joes some aerial counter. Another car would be redundant. I think the AWE will come but not until 2026.

I'd be very interested in some kind of troop transport vehicle. The two-seaters are nice, but I'd like something that could take a squad of four or more onto the battlefield. Something in the style of the Hammer, but with the option to tone down the load out, would be welcome. That Joes seem to have a lack of squad size transport vehicles. It's like most vehicles are one or two seaters and then you get the APC or WHALE.

Maybe that's it. Maybe I just need another one.

They gave me my neighbor's package and took a picture of it on the porch. Maybe the driver ate mine because right after he left I combed the street and saw nothing.
I had something similar happen a few years ago and got a refund. Then 4 days later it showed up. Maybe a free Stinger is in my future. Little price for Amazon to pay for the inconvenience. Then again, Amazon delivered a package to my cousin at work, sent here the image, she contacted me, I walked around the corner...and nada. |

A line like Transformers is easier to display at the moment because while its not dying anytime soon, it's much more complete than Classified and we're at a point where we are more replacing toys than adding to the display. It's also a line you kinda know what's possible size and character wise, but with Classified, it's like do I need to future proof a display for a Skystriker or Whale? I haven't connected with at as much recently do to some design choices, but I'm pretty clearly on board.

I don't see the Thunder Machine coming with 2 figures. I'm sure they'll stick to one figure per vehicle. The one aspect to the TM's cost is there's not any reuse for it. I suppose they could create a different paint scheme for it, but there's precedence for it. Unless the TM is designed to work with the VAMP chassis or its own chassis is designed to be future-used for another vehicle, there isn't an obvious reuse for the vehicle to allow for Hasbro to recoup costs on its development. So it may be a little costlier than we anticipate.
I wonder if/when Tiger Force and Python Patrol will run its course. Obviously, they can keep making figures in these schemes even though there aren't vintage equivalents. But just as a concept, are customers and Target themselves getting bored with these schemes? I'm assuming there will be an end to them at some point. I do like the idea of arctic, or even desert, replacing them. Since we're getting a Joe theme vs a Cobra theme, if they're both arctic, is it too much white on shelves? Not a lot of contrast between the two forces. Maybe the theme doesn't need to run as long as TF vs PP. Maybe only 2 years to crank out a good size force for each side. Also, I don't mind getting Arctic Duke and Snake-Eyes (as examples). More popular characters obviously sell, so I don't mind them being mixed in with specialists like Iceberg. |
