People thought 20 years ago there would never be nostalgia for the Prequel Trilogy and yet here we are where PT stuff actually sells these days. Hell, many polls suggest most of the Star Wars fanbase these days is Prequels kids grown up now with disposable income.

Could totally see the upcoming movies and comics being enough to create a nostalgia for Dark Energon eventually, especially if it drags alot of Transformers fans into GI Joe.

You're mostly describing SW Battlefront it seems like a pretty solid idea. Player character heroes would be a bit harder to manage since the property is basically either soldier or ninja, but you could work with different weapons for sure.

I just don't personally know if Battlefront is still something that people like? I tend to dig it out at Christmas-time and immediately get fragged by someone who's at level 1 googillion or something, and put it away again.

I found the line in December and spent the next 6 months buying the entire line, save for the movie figures. It is not that bad as long as you are patient, and you are coming in at a better time than I did. Some figures have come down to more reasonable numbers over that time. It will be the pulse con/SDCC where you will be end up paying more. The HISS and Dragonfly too if you want the Haslabs.

If you have Facebook you can get some good deals in some of the classified communities. I bought extras from 3 different collectors this week alone. Have to be decisive though. It is a feeding frenzy when someone decides to get out and puts everything up for sale. Sharks smell blood in the water.

Regardless, shop around.

And you can always start a b/s/t thread like a lot of us have on here so you can locate extras from some fellow tankers . Or you can put a hey i want to buy range vipers on the bottom of your posts thats worked out pretty well for me so far , but maybe you dont need range vipers im only buying RV?s because there arent any other troops i need more of that are currently released ..

It's funny because I am totally in both of these states of opinion.

I want MY GI Joe... that's how I'm spending my income (well... that's how I'm justifying it, for now). But I do wish there could be something interesting that's created that feels new and exciting. I don't know how a company takes a risk anymore on making something "new" with an IP in this day and age that isn't immediately shot down by the customer if it doesn't meet expectations.

I'm the perfect example. I know what I'm NOT interested in, but I would have a very, very hard time describing what it is I would want some new iteration of Joe to look like and feel like. Well... I do know, but it would be almost impossible to pull off and be coherent, I think.

I wonder what's selling with younger people? They must know.
