Though they tend to do repaints more than Pre-paints for Tiger Force.. but I think the TF deco is especially striking. I guess it might depend on how well the TF 2 pack sold if they might do another. But I think there is a real argument to be made for using a pre-paint in such a pack to add to the perception of value.

I enjoy Dark Energon, but I don't see it as the future of G.I. Joe. They are still using the same old characters and weaponizing nostalgia to appeal to an audience that already knows the characters. Definitely. No way message boards will still be around in 40 years. As far as DE, if it confirms a connection of various properties and lets there be some overlap that's good enough - but - I'd prefer they come up w/ new characters to use in that overlap too.

Dark Energon gives Cobra something to chase on a long term basis and the "Blood of Unicron" is certainly something one can power laser weapons & Vehicles with. So it actually makes some of the vehicle more practical and with longer operating times than they'd have if they were powered by conventional Earth technology.

There is also something creepy and lovecraft like about using the Blood of a dark God to power technology too.

I just had a thought in certain cases they seem to be jumping over certain characters that one might reasonably think they wouldn't.

It got me wondering sure there is many many reasons why.. like the character being to similar to another one they released not long before...

But I got to thinking in some cases, might it be because of other and more varied reasons.

Like deciding they needed something else to make the parts for it that they wanted to co-opt before making that character.

Or maybe they might decide to make that character a vehicle driver... like I wondered if they might do that with Iceberg ; and make him the driver of a Polar vehicle such as an Arctic ATV or a Polar Battle bear.

Other ones perhaps they might be destined to be Deluxes ($35) of even "pet"scale ($45) items.
So they are waiting for a free slot to make them. Like they seem to be due to do with Heavy Duty soon.

This is a thought I wonder about some of the characters with large Jetpacks. Especially when they did that with Raptor.

It would be a little odd even perhaps perplexingly so to have some characters with substantive accessories be standard figures and some others be a Deluxe.

To be honest I don't mind something being a Deluxe if it means they put some extra effort in.
https://www.3djoes.com/blizzard.html comes to mind as something that might benefit from being a Deluxe and be harmed by not being one.

https://www.3djoes.com/deep-six-v2.html is one who might be considered a bit border line either way... I think they could do a decent standard figure with him he wouldn't be much more complex or detailed than say the Mole Rat was.. so it isn't impossible.
But if they did make him a Deluxe I think he'd need more pieces... perhaps a clever way to go is make the standard one a normal release and then re-design him into a Deepsea diver as part of the 60th line (as there was a 12 inch deep sea Diver after all so that would be a nice addition to the 60th line too)
