I think OAMCC is pretty much done on Pulse unless they run a restock for PulseCon like they did for Mindbender and Serpentor in the past.
As for the secondary price of OAMCC, the avergae auction price has dropped from $112 to $88. The cheapest Buy it Now on eBay is $75. So, yeah, there is still a premium on eBay, but it is coming way down from the first week scramble. As for the Range Viper, looks like the cheapest Buy It Now is $55 and the average Auction price is around $47. Aside from a few notable exceptions, the secondary market for Classified is soft and usually peaks early and then trails off rather than climbing in value over time. Agreed when they are hot classified sells really well , mindbender/serpentor/mod zartan ,range viper & vamp/ferret are still in demand , no big surprise really though ..

Man star wars is the worst thing to try and resell even if its just clearing out some figures . Ive seen lots w/20 decent figs go for barely $$100 and thats black series so thats msrp $400 plus going for a 1/3 of what they were purchased for .. disney/hasbro has killed star wars collecting way too much product and it shows when only a handful of stuff actually is worth anything after even a year just try and recoup your money on blackseries after paying full price for everything it?ll never happen . The last thing i made money on that was star wars related was hunter & crosshair , both great figures , i did a thing when they first came out i bought both of them everytime i saw them at a physical store for a month , then i sold them all .. $60-$80 a piece i had 8 of each of them ,im not usually a scalper but i knew these were going to be hot ..
.. thats was years ago now |

Unless there's going to be another huge run of OAMCC, I can see him going for considerably more than now in a few months. Right now people who bought the max limit to sell are competing with each other and the September preorders haven't even shipped yet. |

OAMCC is following the same aftermarket trend as Chuckles price-wise. Started off high, dipped as the market was flooded, then creeped up a bit. Mindbender's aftermarket price tanked to under $70 when the second run shipped, then creeped back up to around $100.

My favorite pattern for this is watching how ML treats 90's outfit Rogue figures. They come out, immediately sell out, and then go for insane prices until they release another version a few years later and all the old stuff drops in price. For some reason, everyone wants the latest verson of that character. Hasbro can count on having a sell out every three years if they keep dipping into that well. |

A very important point. Really the pattern is spike, dip, and then slow creep up over the long term. However, Hasbro can kick the long term creep by reissues or remakes. For example, Firefly 2.0 and Retro Beach Head killed the price of the original figures and I'm sure Retro Mindbender will cause prices on the SDCC version to fall off quite a bit.

In modern day collectibles it seems like the hottest after market is the people that are impatient. The highest prices are almost always right at the beginning of the next wave or release of whatever figure or vehicle is the hot new thing. Once all the impatient people are out of the way, and product starts reaching more shelves. the prices dip... always do. Then eventually the market will adjust to those that are just jumping in and trying to back fill old product that isn't rare per say.. but no longer manufactured. There's not much of an in between now.

IDK but to me personally, if you refuse to pay a little more for one item when you are already buying dozens and dozens (maybe hundreds) of figures, it seems counter to the hobby. I always want the stuff to be cheaper but could also buy less of everything. I just don’t lose sleep over spending a little more from time to time. I might not be collecting these if they were $50 a pop for example; so we all have our limits; but at same time I won’t hesitate to spend an extra $25 as a one off if I want a figure badly enough. That extra money spent is just peace of mind knowing that I secured one. And it doesn’t bother me or eat me up when I inevitably see a lot of the items I paid full price for marked down. I just chalk it up to supporting the brand/line. I’ve missed preorders and paid for it. We all have. Be diligent, have good friends or pony up. Otherwise spend inordinate amounts of time crying about action figures. Last edited by Ted Kamensky; 08-20-2024 at 05:08 PM.. |

If I miss the pre-order window then I didn't need the item. Especially at these prices.

I preordered two Range Vipers and eventually had my order cancelled at which time they were long gone. I set up a link to the sale page on Walmart.ca and checked several times a day but never saw them again. What was I supposed to do differently?

Nothing, you did everything that you could. Unfortunately, sometimes that isn't even enough to secure an item (as we saw with the Range-Viper pre-orders). I had the same thing happen to me. WalMart canceled my RV about a week before they started shipping out. I think a lot of people on here had the same thing happen to them and got screwed over by WM because at that point there were none left to re-order. I was fortunate enough to get lucky and got one off of Pulse when a small batch went up after they initially shipped out.
