When my wife and I were dating she was aware and supported my collections. She.... just didn't realize how deep the rabbit hole went until we got married. I will never forget walking into the room with my "Action Figure Closet" and her just staring into it with a blank expression. Apparently during the whole time we were dating, engaged, etc she never opened that closet door.
Lucky for me she still supports me.

Lucky for me she still supports me. When I met my gf she was just my neighbor , i asked her to come over and eat dinner with me no strings attatched , she never stopped coming over after that night and she had seen my room the second time she came over . She has always said there are worse things to want to buy or to buy in general .

Ok I was just thinking of the thorny issue of where Nostalgia lays... As well I tend to not think in those terms, but rather in terms of a toyline in total and "mission roles" so for example Gi Joe has several Parchutists/Airborne types and likely more on the way.
Now "traditionally" there isn't a great deal of Cobra Parachuting going on , accept when someone's aircraft goes boom that is. But later on the line added things like the Paraviper and the Jetpack troopers.. and solidified ideas like the "Red hat" Pilots. So it got me wondering - as a percentage of preference. Where do people sit is it only ARAH toyline only ARAH cartoon... or is there any room for new ideas, or later ideas too. Also what if a character has very little presence in fiction (like say the Desert Scorpions) but seems to fill a niche. I know some people pretty much only want Blue shirts and actively dislike many Cobra-sub types (vipers etc) But I just wondered about it as I keep noting people say things like "My collection is nearly complete" as they want to recreate what they had wher they were 8, rather than look at the toy line as a contemporary thing (like I do). Not that I don't think Nostalgia is an important thing for many people. I just don't mind things going a bit off the range sometimes.. otherwise we wouldn't have things like Profit Director Destro at all. I just get the impressions sometimes I am on my own wanting a Alley Viper Officer (for example) or that I consider a HEAT Viper or Rock Viper an absolute necessity... but at the same time would be just as happy to have a Jungle BAT, Undertow Officer or a Shock Trooper. |

Relaxing with the wife. Still haven't seen Deadpool, yet, so might check it out. We'll see. Eagerly awaiting Monday. Not because it'll be a relaxing day, but I'll be receiving my Mezco Commando Snake Eyes. I'm very hyped for this figure.

Guys were talking about an APC and I would like to see an APC inspired by the RHINO but without the helicopter gimmick. Just make it a cool APC that can fit a few joes inside.

I always wonder what battling your significant other, to engage with your hobbies, is like? (Not that I ever want to experience it, myself!) As my wife is a collector, as well, I've never dealt with this issue. We both buy the collectibles we want and sometimes buy them for each other (if one of us is out, or on an action figure site and sees something interesting). I'm glad some, at least, have supportive partners. Everyone should be able to have a hobby and not be criticized, over it (so long as it's not harming anyone).

The Rhino was huge. Almost same footprint as the WHALE, which is way more iconic and popular. That said, the Rhino was a neat vehicle.

Man youre not the only one ive been petioning for range viper officer i want the cobra para viper in classified that figure was great right off the rip he had a rebreather/parachute kit/2 guns flippers a knife i liked his whole look he even had the goggles that fit over his helmet total bad ass even data viper was cool , i know a lot of people didnt like him , how about the shock trooper or the cobra combat ninja , 2 great figures would love to see them in classified form as well , i am down with new/old/concept whatever , people who say they are almost done with collecting because they almost have whatever they grew up with have a different mindset than the rest of us and i see gijoe as a genre that started before i was born and everything about it good or bad since then has made it what it is today . Im all in till the line ends ?

Yea, DeadPools is objectively a very good movie. It's as safe a bet for movies as you can get these days.
