If they did make a Skystriker in 1/12ish scale I would suggest they put a slightly different mechanism in for the wings; a release button or pushing the leaver down that uncouples the wings from the landing gear so you can have it wheels out and wings in as well as pose the wings at other angles when the wheels are in too. that would help for display (without a stand) a bit too.

I'm seriously thinking about making a couple hanger bays nothing crazy just for pics etc build them on the same platform/base and use one side for joes the other for cobra just getting all the parts i need i only have so many 6? things that arent weapons etc . Maybe ill get some old pac rats and modify/reuse them ,with the dragon fly coming in this year i think a hanger-bay might be the answer for me anyway just have it grounded being worked on etc . Do any of the panels come off the Dfly , my memory is a bit fuzzy on that subject

The Skystriker was bigger than the other planes. You can even see it in the pictures posted a page back. Longer and wider. Body of it is way beefier than a Rattler and even the X-30. Saying they're "basically" the same isn't correct.
As others have said, I like my vehicles to have some functionality and be useful with other figures. Or at least have some kind of playability. A A Skystriker needs to be flown around, but you're not going to be able to do that with a Classified version. I feel like it may still be possible to fly the Classified Rattler in one hand, and a Classified X-30 in your other hand. They'd be kinda unwieldy but I think it would still be possible. You're not doing that with a Skystriker. Hell, you probably would barely be able to handle the Skystriker with 2 hands. Yes, the Sail Barge was large, but it's also not something which needs to be moved around. It's not an agile vehicle. It's essentially a playset. The X-30 is an iconic Joe vehicle. It's instantly recognizable. It featured heavily in the 2nd season of the cartoon. Hell it's in the opening to the show. It's been repainted a bunch over the years. Saying it isn't iconic is pushing a personal preference agenda. My idea for a green Snow Cat also includes white swappable armor parts. So essentially green or white or a combo of both. Gives you options. I wouldn't expect a green-only Snow Cat. I liked the HAVOC as a kid. It certainly has some wackiness to it. There's no way it gets a non-Haslab release. Same with the Snow Cat unless they radically rethink Haslabs and what can survive at retail. Both vehicles would be at least as big as the HISS. Unless you shrink them down into silliness, which I'm assuming most people don't want. People are complaining about the size of the Ramen tank(s), so I'm not sure distorted vehicles will be embraced. I do think a Classified Mauler would be cool. But I feel like it may just be too large with somewhat limited interaction with vehicles. Hell, I think maybe an Armadillo would be more appealing. Maybe upsize the Armadillo a little bit, so it's not just a bathtub on treads. Just a bit of fluffing up. It can interact with the driver and some Joes hanging off the back (or even sides if given some runners). Easily a retail vehicle at the $50-75 without a driver, although they'd likely include one. |

There was 24,761 Backers on the Dragonfly incidentally. |

I mean, as far as I'm concerned Haslab is due for diminishing returns soon because the space these things take up is CRAZY. I really can't see many people having the room for alot of 6" vehicles. Especially with GI Joe I think the diminish returns on vehicles will come hard and fast.
So I get the "too big" thing. I still don't know how people can have for example the Cantina, Razorcrest, Ghost, and Barge. There is almost no way to stick those things all out at once unless you live in a very large home with extra rooms. But I'm simply saying I don't get Lenny's "Skystriker is too big for Haslab" when it's very clearly in the vintage toy shown to be slightly larger than the Rattler, Conquest, and Dragonfly. Now maybe they feel the need to size up the Skystriker since the Rattler is now being presented as some ground attack plane and not what it was portrayed as in the comics ie Cobra's answer to the Skystriker. But it feels quite an arbitrary cutoff. ESPECIALLY if supposedly the Moray and some tank amalgamation were options presented in the focus groups. So basically I'm confused as to why the Skystriker is a No Go due to size when the Conquest and Rattler are barely smaller. |

Absolutely yes they do. Everything they have done with this line has been with thought. They might not get everything right, the first wave weaponry as an example, but I think most people would say they are getting most right.

I only get the Cobra Haslabs and I'm kind of hoping the 2026 one is the Moray. I think I'd be okay with skipping any future ones after that once I have big-ass land, air, and sea options, along with all the smaller vehicles they continue to put out.
