I think, with hindsight, the HISS would've been perfectly successful as a standard release for 200 dollars with just the driver and no electronics. Maybe with the gunner, too.

I'm lost because it seems like many are saying things aren't iconic but when the Skystriker is brought up suddenly every plane that isn't remotely iconic is thrown out there?

I really don't see why the Skystriker is off the table when the Rattler is here and people think the Moray and Whale are viable?

Just because the Skystriker is most iconic, doesn't mean the Conquest isn't memorable. It was featured in the cartoon as well. You're playing to the extreme mentality of "this or nothing." So let me pose a common sense question to you. Joe needs an air-based force entry to match the Rattler. Do you a) go full out and produce a Skystriker that's too big to reasonably collect and too expensive to sell enough units to justify its success (i.e. fund the HasLab), b) smash it down to a reasonable and affordable size and wind up with something looking laughably absurd like the 4" scale Top Gun toys, or c) look to another option that might not be as "iconic," but is certainly a memorable brand entry, and better fits the needs of the line?

I've always said the WHALE is too big. Done right, it'd be the size of the HT Tumbler (or possibly bigger), and most who own that are trying to get rid of it because they don't have the space to display it.

Yeah but we need the original HAVOC, with all its crazy bells and whistles, not that bastardized version that is just a green SnowCat. ��

Edit to be clear: I still want a SnowCat, too, but there's a reason those 2 vehicles should be very different.

Exactly that . I didnt pick up any of the tumblers in hindsight im still glad i didnt . But i did pick up the 12? scale batwing ?hoping to start modding it soon? for 6? double man cockpit was $20 on clearance so it was an easy pick up . And that thing is huge bigger that the rattler or skystriker the wings come off and its not as detailed buy it has landing gear and looks pretty good just sitting there or even if i decide to hang it like a bat symbol on the wall .

Anyone remember the A-10 that was made for the terminator salvation line it was horribly small not much bigger than the mud fighter .the arah rattler makes it look like a baby toy . It comes with a blair “moon bloodgood” figure ..

I have that in a bin in the garage. It LOOKS good, but it's so horribly underscaled for a toy that should've been the size of the Rattler to go with the 4" figures (the Terminators were awesome, but the humans were horrible lol).

I mean, as far as I'm concerned Haslab is due for diminishing returns soon because the space these things take up is CRAZY. I really can't see many people having the room for alot of 6" vehicles. Especially with GI Joe I think the diminish returns on vehicles will come hard and fast.

So I get the "too big" thing. I still don't know how people can have for example the Cantina, Razorcrest, Ghost, and Barge. There is almost no way to stick those things all out at once unless you live in a very large home with extra rooms.

But I'm simply saying I don't get Lenny's "Skystriker is too big for Haslab" when it's very clearly in the vintage toy shown to be slightly larger than the Rattler, Conquest, and Dragonfly. Now maybe they feel the need to size up the Skystriker since the Rattler is now being presented as some ground attack plane and not what it was portrayed as in the comics ie Cobra's answer to the Skystriker. But it feels quite an arbitrary cutoff. ESPECIALLY if supposedly the Moray and some tank amalgamation were options presented in the focus groups.

So basically I'm confused as to why the Skystriker is a No Go due to size when the Conquest and Rattler are barely smaller.

They're not "barely smaller" though. I'm not sure what you're talking about, really. While I don't have the vintage versions, I just compared the ME Skystriker to the Rattler (sorry my Conquest is binned and buried ATM). The Skystriker is only a few inches wider with wings extended, but almost a half-foot longer (and that's just the single-figure cockpit, not the double of the vintage one). If you scale that up to classified, the difference gets more substantial.
