I don't see a Terror Drome or HQ coming (not gonna say never). The appetite for playsets at this scale just seems smaller than that of vehicles. Arctic vehicles like the Snowcat feel 50/50. They're popular vehicles, but they're limited in use compared to the other vehicles since they're environmental specific and go with a certain type of figure that you don't see much of in the line while you can pretty much use the other haslab vehicles in any environment and with whatever figures you want. I feel like the boats have the same flaws as well. I could see something like a Water Moccasin coming out to scratch that itch and test reaction without needing a haslab same could go for the SHARC. Honestly surprised we haven't gotten a Night Landing at the $55 price point.

Gi Joe Jet (The Skystriker) I think we can consider anything after that a "hard reset" and start over again. The the Cobra Hiss Tank come 1st Then the GI Joe Dragonfly Helicopter Followed by the Cobra Rattler So if they are following a logical pattern and trying to represent different concepts and as the Snow Cat really doesn't need to be a Haslab so we can pitch he idea of Arctic stuff away (unless they decide to be cheeky and try to make the Arctic Hiss a Haslab (a bad idea - not the vehicle ; but selling it that way). Which is why so many think next up is going to be a Gi Joe Ground Vehicle.. since well "They really really need one" that isn't a Motorcycle. If they did a "Surprise" Gi Joe Plane.. just to feed the Rattler (which is a Ground attack plane anyway) then that wouldn't be helping that lack of ground vehicles. I guess the APC isn't "Impossible" and would address some of the issues. There is even an obscure redesign with a hardened back end too. If they wanted to make the back stronger. I kinda dig the idea of the back end being removable as some sort of "armoured tent" and the cover being removable and able to be set up as a flexible tent. or folded half backwards. To be honest I think I wouldn't mind if they tweaked the interior a bit so it could carry a couple of Motorcycles instead of just people. The advantage of the APC is that it is also "technically" aquatic too. Quote:
As I said recently using this as an example : https://www.3djoes.com/headquarters-command-center.html If you scroll down and look at the pieces layout images you'd can see what I mean. There is a number of ways to sell those parts other than as a single Haslab.. and the advantage is with some minor tweaks people could likely add additional garages or use 2 back to back or side by side. It even allows for whole new pieces to be made like say a Motorcycle motorpool or accessories specific to servicing Helicopters. Or maybe even mode the helipad to a roof. Quote:

So a Snow Cat has the bonus feature of also encouraging them to make other Arctic themed items too. I kinda think that they are environmental specific is the entire point and what I want - even encourage enthusiastically. A leads, to A leads to C. Like we already have all those Eals and nothing to do with them, they need some sort of boat desperately.. and once there is one it makes making a Hydrosled or Piranha seem a lot more sensible & encourages them to do things like Cobra "frogmen", Hydro-Vipers, and so on too. I bet having a Moray Hydrofoil would sell more water Moccasins too and vice versa perhaps may also be the case. Without that "environmental" themed vehicle the desire for more of the same is a lot less.. like make a Brown Vamp II it does nothing really.. but Make a Desert Tan vamp II and suddenly there is a really logic to making Sand Scorpions or a Desert Ram Motorcycle etc.. heck even Dusty & his Coyote 'Sandstorm' too. |

I would love a true 1/64 scale line of Joe Vehicles and playsets. VAMP would be the size of a Hot Wheels jeep. Skystriker F-14 would be 11.5 inches long, and would be a foot fide with open wings. Can you imagine a true 1/64 Flagg? It would be over 12 feet long!

Some of you may recall a seller named "PengWei" listed Gnawgahyde for $22.99 on the Walmart website last month. I had placed an order for two of them and tried to panic-cancel when others pointed out the seller looked sketchy. The order ended up shipping and I got tracking info and today Walmart alerted me that my product was delivered at 1:32 PM. I stepped outside and found exactly zero packages delivered to my house. So I am not exactly sure how a scam like this was pulled off. I even see my address in the tracking. I will have to do some deeper digging.
The scam basically works like this. 1. Make a new account, list the item on Walmart. 2. Send nothing, post a fake Chinese simulated tracking number. 3. There will eventually be someone who doesn't ask for a refund because they're careless. Even better, some idiot at Walmart refunds the customer and the item you never sent.

Yea, holy bananas that project turned rotten fast. They asked us what we wanted, gave us concept art for a standard play set and then did a switcheroo and made a 200-350 dollar playset crowdfund project. There was no way Nostalgia was saving that one. It's not what people voted for.

A good product would have been accepted even with changes (can?t please every one though) but it just wasn?t a good product. I don?t know why they didn?t just do the concept art. I voted for the Hordak Tank so I don?t care lol

Yeah that one was less about nostalgia (because there was no vintage snake lair) and more about the bait and switch.

A Joe tank of some sort next year followed by two years of water vehicles seems to be the best route for future Haslabs. But who knows if they will even still be doing Haslabs in the next three years? If enough of them fail over time I can see Hasbro dropping the project all together. I don't think the Joe or Transformers ones have anything to worry about. But Marvel seems to be done with them and I could see Star Wars being the same.
The upcoming Ghostbusters Ecto-1 will interesting. They need to make it feel like a Haslab product, bit I can see most Buster fans balking at a $300-350 price for it. In addition the figures for it will have to be re-issued since they haven't been in stores for 4 years. It could end up not going well. Especially if they have patches as a single tier. Also once again this morning had to approve a delay for my target Tiger Paw. Anyone else dealing with this? It's now the 27th. |

Ah that is interesting.. I knew nothing at all about the Snake Mountain playset.. but I did catch a picture and saw someone saying that it was Controversial.. my own first reaction was "Why does it look like they'd designed it for Imaginext & then just made it bigger ?".
I would have thought they'd want to push it slightly towards modern styles so people could use it with a variety of things while also not looking terrible with the Vintage stuff. Sure the original Castle Greyskull looks like a toy for kids under 10 too. But not to that extent & certainly not every Castle Greyskull toy ever made. Amusingly the only MOTU playset I every opened is the Eternia one I do have others but never took them out of the boxes and to be honest the only way they'd likely get me back is to finish MOTU 20XX season 3. |

Just an update on Pulse wonkiness - last night I received a PayPal notification that Pulse had charged me $26.49. I hadn't received a shipping soon email for a $24.99 item and I still haven't received an email about anything being charged or shipping.
After cross-referencing my preorder list with my Pulse order history I figured out it's the Marvel Legends Magik figure because it doesn't currently have a cancel option. Not really a big deal, but something I thought might be helpful to know if anyone gets a mystery charge. |
