Yeah Haslab has never been defined as purely ARAH and frankly the HISS and Dragonfly differ quite a bit from their original designs.
MOBAT is a vehicle that we mostly all agree is flawed, so why not update it a bit? Fix issues like being able to sit figures in it properly. If it's still green, called the MOBAT, is a military tank, and comes with Steeler is it not a MOBAT? Or is it only a mobat if you can't put figures in it and looks 40+ years out of date? Secondly, I was speaking to the idea of just blending several GI Joe tanks together or even just using a modern era tank and slapping a name on it vs updating vehicles in ways that make sense. I don't even think I was that unclear about it. I was simply speaking to the fact that I think some people sort of expect the Haslab vehicles to look like their original counterparts when you look at them. Not replicas, but just that you know what it is when you see it. There is not a Joe fan alive that couldn't tell the HISS is a HISS and the Dragonfly is a Dragonfly... that's is the entirety of my point. I think it's sort of bonkers those keep being brought up as examples like they were drastically altered. The MOBAT would need so much help to be viable as a Classified vehicle I'd argue it's a terrible candidate for one and I'm one of the old guys that's pro 1982. There are tons more vehicles that would benefit from the Haslab treatment with much easier updates than a MOBAT (i.e the Mauler.. green or not). Third - To answer your question.. it's a MOBAT if you look at it and can tell it's a MOBAT. Something can be updated and still retain it's original feel (i.e the last 3 Haslabs).

I didn't have a problem with the Tiger Cat itself so much as I did with Frostbite himself. His Tiger Force file card even says he drives the Tiger Cat over sand dunes in the Sahara and the temperature is over 113 degrees. So why is he still wearing winter gear? lol. Must be sweating his balls off.

Just look at the MOTU Origins Snake Lair - early consumer insights panned it so hard that they *postponed the crowdfund launch* to get it right. Now, good for Mattel, but it definitely sends up giant red flags to anyone in a male-nostalgia-dominated toy market and says "stick to the familiar." Only risk in a crowdfund is replacing an unlock with something cheaper that consumers might dislike (hypothetically speaking of course, but, say, a set of patches).

I never had any information about a $150 price point for this year and I don't for anything in 2025 either. But there will be at least one joe vehicle at the $100 price point for 2025.

I still think as I keep saying that Any Tracked vehicles : especially the Mobat, Bridge Layer, Wolverine, MBT & Cobra CAT.
should be RC or phone app operated vehicles made by someone under licence who makes such "electronic toys" as then it free's up Hasbro to not have to worry about it. That might be a place to experiment too. Like with a Green Mauler. So basically you'd have something akin to one of those ap controlled droids only it would be a vehicle. Imagine a 1/12th Cobra imp or Wolverine with actually firing foam darts on it and moveable treads. Such and idea "might" have worked better for 3.75" scale but I think people would pay more for 6" scale ones. //// As for new items.. well returning to 3.75" for a second.. if such a hypothetical deal was signed another possibility could be an RC tank transporter truck designed to carry mid-scale Gi Joe vehicles around. A cobra version could be made too. Imagine such a thing carrying a couple of Cobra Wolfs on the back (for example).. yeah it maybe years to later for such a thing now. But it was more an example idea of the sort of "external deal" Hasbro could do.. and also something that isn't "canon" but is absolutely useful. It would explain how the heck Cobra gets something like a https://www.3djoes.com/cobra-ice-sabre.html around short of shipping it in pieces. I'd giggle like a 6 year old if they ever made an Ice sabre in 1/12th scale but it would be a really big risk.. but I think it is one of the most visually pleasing of later vehicles (and there is some rather ugly ones later on). //// I agree that it is likely the Classified line would die down a bit before they'd run out of things worth making as Haslabs.. but thinking about the possibility of the $125-$250 dollar range for retail.. makes me start to wonder how people would react to things made Outside of the ARAH product bubble. I am rather fond of this thing for example : https://generalsjoesreborn.com/revie.../ringneck.html & in terms of the sheer amount of play value of got out of something i'd have to say it is likely this thing I played with more than any other single Gi Joe vehicle I own : https://generalsjoesreborn.com/revie...les/hiss4.html (as well as the Hiss II). Risky.. sure but I do really like some of that Later stuff.. I really wouldn't say no to this either: https://generalsjoesreborn.com/revie...icecutter.html I think this is a great vehicle. |

Well that probably eliminates, for now, any discussion of the Snow Cat or Thunder Machine being main line releases.. at least in the short term. Unless they can shoe horn either of those into that price range.. both are two seaters like the VAMP... but probably a stretch.

GI Joe has the cheapest average HasLab prices for the 4 items so far. They have gone $230, $300, $275 and $325.

I'm hoping for either the SHARC, the Despoiler, the AGP, the AWE Striker, the Firebat or the Sky Hawk for the $100 vehicle.
