Classified is pretty much non-existent in brick and mortar stores in my area or stocked so low whatever they have sells out with only remnants left on the shelves.
All I've seen at Wal-Mart was the exclusive retros and then specifically Lady Jaye, Baroness, Destro, and Gung Ho. At Target I've seen the movie figures, PD Destro, Flint, Lady Jaye, TF Dusty, Shipwreck, Rock N' Roll, Vypra, and the TF Roadblock and Tripwire (the only Joes they had on my last trip). Gamestop usually gets one or two of each retail wave but shoves them way in the back corner of their toy display. Been a while since I even bothered checking, but the last time I was there it was a Rock'N'Roll and a pile of Arctic BATS. The area I live in has a lot of military personnel and their families, so it may just be things get picked over fast. In fairness, Marvel Legends and SW Black Series are usually just the pegwarmers too. Lots of McFarlane DC, MOTU, and Wrestling figures though. The "collectors" aisle is usually packed with NECA. Honestly, I think you're missing the point with people's dislike of Cobra la. Granted there were some episodes of the original cartoon that definitely had some supernatural elements, But at its heart it was still a military show. It was about the conflict between an American military unit had a ruthless terrorist organization. The show was always grounded in that.
Then suddenly we find out that Cobra was actually being run by a bunch of strange beings who looked like they would be more at home on Eternia. It kind of felt like the rug was pulled out from under us and shifted the entire tone of the line. |

Bad news, I'm back in the hospital and have missed the last couple days of chatting.
Good news, Sgt. Slaughter is shipping soon! Hopefully I make it home before he does. 🤞

The DIC series was very cringey. Now a lot of the banter in the Sunbow series was funny. Favorite was from hearts and cannon between Dusty and Footloose.

Yeah I'm afraid the cringe of the Sunbow cartoon was often stronger than my resolution to watch the show.
So I just kinda went.. well that was a thing... and went and watched Cartoons that didn't make my spine want to escape. I'm still amazed that the best Cartoon Sunbow ever made (Visionaries) only lasted 1 season.. and even that was a tiny bit cringe in places. I don't mind a bit of cringe even the best cartoons have some (Ulysses 31 for example makes me occasionally face palm - but other times it's an epic show) Starscream in Transformers is pretty much made of cringe - but everyone still loves him for it. But yeah Gi Joe Laser M-16's and Parachute syndrome is a lot more acceptable when you are 8 years old i'd suggest. Or Maybe I liked the toys so much and the premise so much I was willing to turn a blind eye to any flaws (much as I do with Miraculous now) |

Tiger Paw keeps going in and out of stock this morning on the Target app.
Tried checking in store and just a pile of Roadblock packs. That said I stumbled upon Platinum DC Multiverse of Ghosts Brainiac, Superman Earth 2, and Blackfire, so I was hella happy. |

I'm not so sure that's an accurate statement for an "all encompassing" analysis. Sure some of it sells horribly, but the very reason some can't find it is because it's selling through. Especially if they discounted an older wave and the newer wave arrives on that same, adjusted discount. There's also the issue of stores not getting the product out in a timely fashion, so that when the product actually hits the floor, it's several waves behind and doesn't sell (so they ignorantly let it rot on the pegs while sending the newer product, sitting in their distribution centers, to discount retailers). That's a distribution issue that's been plaguing B&M long before the pandemic. That's not even addressing stores like WalMart who might have Classified available online, but don't ship it to a lot of their stores, so you'd never see it there, anyway. Frankly, lots of reasons, but "selling horribly" is limited to a small, very specific aspect, not the whole.
