People can trash that movie and Cobra La all they want, but the demand is clearly there. I used to hate the movie as a kid because it was such a weird side-story and I just wanted to see Joes and Cobras punching each other, but now I just think of it as being part of the lore the same as anything else and I've already got shelf space planned plotted out for the whole Cobra La crew with Serpentor as the center piece.

I?m in the camp that does not like GI Joe the movie in particular the Cobra La back story. I will admit I have always liked the look of the Cobra La characters, especially Nemesis Immortal. I find myself wanting to get them based on their look. I wish they found a better way to present them in GI Joe the movie.

This exactly - I actually liked Cobra La since childhood, but understood and understand still why some do not. I do NOT understand the disparagement it gets though - because as you note, it IS part of the lore now. And you can ignore it if you like and focus upon what you prefer.

I appreciate the whole Lovecraftian influence to thwir design and the Star Wars EU Yuuzhon Vong similarities, and the seeming savior or failed hero back story for Cobra Commander. It was weird and cool as a kid to see a new threat. I am hopeful we see it explored fully in Classified with two entries now already.

And there's already enough conflicting lore from over the decades with the "normal" characters, it's not that hard to work in Cobra La. Not to mention all the other weird, even supernatural crap that happened in the cartoons anyway.

Thats me ,there are so many other genres inside of the joe/cobra verse that nobody needs/should focus on just one of them to hate .. gijoe was/is ridiculous and thats part of the allure to me , myself like many of you are close to the same age and 80?s cheese is my jam . Captain power , bravestarr , tmnt, gijoe, thundercats,silverhawks ,golden girls , threes company ,the jeffersons ,, the list goes on we were bombarded/inundated with product after product , toy after toy ,cigarette/beer commercials, info-mercials , home shopping club , dial up internet , the clapper , cha cha cha chia pets this is what we know and became accustomed to as well .. and thats how i feel about joes theyve come back so many times , im enjoying this ride more than ever i hope i get to buy classified for another decade ..

I figure if Raptor sells then Cobra La will sell, at least well enough to have them made. Some of the Cobra La peeps looked really good and would work in classified scale. I saw them as a subgroup that ppl could use to the extent they wanted. There are a ton of other characters that should come first in the line but the Royal guards were really cool.

Assuming they wanted to give each side a water vehicle, and I really think they should, they would almost have to go Moray then Whale for 2026 and 2027 right? I mean if it needs to be "iconic", what else could you pick?

That's exactly what I do. With the exceptions of Spider-Man, Wolverine and Punisher, I only pick up the comic versions. I was looking forward to cutting back, but this year, for Legends, has been home run after home run, bastards. lol

See, that's the thing. I'm of the opinion, we don't get the sell outs we do without the trashers buying it, too. Otherwise, with all that talk, he would've warmed like the Crimson 3-pack, vs. selling out in the first 5min of Premium.
