I would find it odd Hasbro doesn't have an interest in playsets when they own Star Wars and continue to pump out playsets to this day.
Now a 6" scale aversion to playsets might make sense just given how large this stuff is (seriously, try an Extreme Pop Up Diorama - they're MASSIVE). |

I ordered OAM CC on day 2, and just got a shipping notice.

I don't think fans, as a whole, want an amalgam vehicle that only passingly resembles something classic. One of the main reasons Classified campaigns fund so quickly is due to capturing old and new fans alike. To an old fan a vehicle that resembles nothing they are used to does not strike the same chord. The only way I think a green Mauler funds is if it's primarily a MOBAT yet contains swappy parts in the base offering that make it resemble a Mauler.

Regarding playsets, they typically don't sell well for boys lines. Yet they cost a lot to make and usually don't have much reuse potential. If they sold well, companies would make more of them.
I think the best best for Classified playsets is to make some module pieces. Two or three different sections over a year or so. Pack in a troop builder, Joe or Cobra, with each section. Extra parts, like searchlight, cameras, guns, to fill it out as you see fit. And maybe even a sticker sheet to make it either Joe or Cobra aligned. Or a Haslab for the Tactical Battle Platform. I used to love the HACOC, logic be damned. It came out during the peak of RAH in my mind. But I understand people's issues with it. I doubt we see it in Classifed any time soon though. |

I'd like even those little sets with the crates, sandbags, etc. they used in sell.

The early Retaliation waves were definitely an interesting experiment
I still really like the Cobra Commander that came with the HISS: Hot take is that it's a better Battle Armor Cobra Commander than the classic design because you still have the faceplate element that is distinctly Cobra Commander It's too bad the figures will forever be associated with a so-so movie but they did make some cool stuff. The Cobra trooper with the parachute, the chase Cobra Commander with the silver vac-metal face... The Bruce Willis, ha! |

The HISS Tank isn't a tank like the MOBAT or MAULER, but yet it also is because of than name.
If they ever did a rerelease of the HISS, I wouldn't mind it with the replace the gunner spot with a more traditional tank cannon. Like we saw in the Retaliation movie and toyline: |
