I just got charged for a few minutes ago, lmao.
No indication of that on Pulse, but my bank account reflects the charge from Hasbro. Edit: Maybe someone else can clear this up, but I didn't get the usual "hey your thing is about to ship, make sure your info is in order!" email from Pulse at any point. Are they not doing that anymore? |

I disagree. I would be more likely to back if it did not adhere 100% to the original.

Yeah the HISS and Dragonfly both have deviations from the original ones. HISS has added features and different proportions and the Dragonfly even has a similar but altered color scheme.

I don't know if I can see the Mauler or the MOBAT being a HasLab. They are both too 'military' if you ask me. GIJoe has always had that sci-fi/fantasy element to it's best parts. The Dragonfly is about as real and military as I can see things getting.
I'm not sure what would be a good Joe-Team HasLab. Maybe a Whale? They could make it similar in length as the Rattler and Dragonfly - and sci-fi the heck out of it's design. Make it more futuristic - yet still ARAH. |

I'm not sure what would be a good Joe-Team HasLab. Maybe a Whale? They could make it similar in length as the Rattler and Dragonfly - and sci-fi the heck out of it's design. Make it more futuristic - yet still ARAH. The thing with the Mauler/MOBAT is that the Joes need a tank. That green army tank is the classic military toy vehicle and the line feels incomplete without it. We've got our Jeep/Humvee in the VAMP and our helicopter in the Dragonfly. The two classic military toy vehicles that are still needed are a tank and a plane. We've had two arial haslabs in a row so it's be nice to get back to a big ground vehicle. The Whale or a boat can come later. Plus from a play pattern perspective the Joes need a tank to counter the HISS. I do think the eventual Joe tank is where you can take liberties with the design because I think you really only have a chance at one big tank mold in this line. Between scale and price, I'd be surprised if they tried to double dip and were successful with doing both a MOBAT and a Mauler. I know I get poo pooed for saying it but size of these projects is getting to be factor just from a display perspective and I think that's gonna set in when the Dragonfly arrives this winter (not to mention the Stinger and 3rd party offerings like the Roboskull). With the goal of doing the ultimate tank for classified with only one shot at it you can do a hybrid of the Mauler, MOBAT, the Patriot Grizzly, and some more modern real word tanks and make something really cool. If the product is good, even most of the people complaining about it not being a real MAULER or MOBAT would get over it and back it. A good tank will also have appeal outside of the Joe fandom as well, like the Dragonfly. Legends collectors and such can use them.

The MOBAT is a curious wee beastie as design wise it has more in common with a 1960's tank, and it only had space for a commander.
The other issue is the whole "Motorised" part. To be honest Hasbro would be better served finding a partner in the RC and electronic novelty toy sector and getting them to make the tracked vehicles under license. As some have pointed out before the shelf-life of those sorts of toys in Walmart is longer and they can charge a variety of different prices. Hasbro isn't very likely to make 1/12th RC Military vehicles and the toys that are out there rarely have good leg space for 5" or 6" figures in them. So find someone who makes that sort of thing give them the license and perhaps use the same basic mechanisms to make several of the vehicles. It is perfectly feasible for such a company to make an RC Wolverine that has actual firing rockets and maybe even can be controlled also by a phone ap. That would free up Hasbro to do a lot of things they'd otherwise be spending slots on making tank for Haslabs Some designs just wouldn't work well as RC (like the DEMON) but would be an appropriate HASLAB still. A relationship like that would benefit everyone and give us way more tanks and way more play value. & If they were very very crafty they could even start easy with a licensed RC Humvee to test the idea out. But the Mobat is SO old fashioned looking it almost needs to come in Retro packaging to excuse it looking like a tank from half a century ago. The Mauler has the opposite issue which is it has no commander space and space for the drivers, but the Mobot has the commander space and not drivers Both need some modification for 3 or 4 crew positions really. To be honest the best tank for Gi Joe (or Cobra Crimson Guard) these days would perhaps be something based on the Israeli Merkava as it has that rear hatch access. But I don't think people would respond well to a whole new tank design. I guess they could brazen it out with a Licensed Abrams maybe ? & brand it like the 60th Anniversary line design. But people might feel a bit robbed. Does kinda make me hanker for a 1/12th scale tank that takes figures doesn't cost $800 and looks nice.. (I can dream I guess) |

I'd be shocked if Classified doesn't get a Joe tank eventually.

A tank capable to transport a couple of figures... If it's for one or two figures then no.
