I bet there colors will be more vibrant like the 86 figures rather that the dull version of the classified 3 packs man... I will need at least 8. I love the Python Patrol versions.

Of all the figures currently named or leaked, Blowtorch is the most logical match for a tank with a pressure gauge. Different than the vintage figure and I am more used to seeing a 2-tank configuration like the old Vietnam/WW2 version. I agree that this type of backpack would make more sense for a diver and maybe there is a Wet-Suit coming that we do not know about.

But Lenny and the team are not super proficient with all things military and maybe are going with this pack for Blowtorch just to change things up? Who else could be coming that would get a pack like this? Wet-Suit (does not match his vintage), Eels V2 (not a match), who else?
I think you may have nailed it right there. That's almost an exact a match. Maybe Airtight comes with something resembling his OG pack and this one.

OAMCC has been delivered by FedEx. Pulse rocked it. Ordered Monday and received Thursday. I have missed the brown outer boxes these figures used to come with. Glad they went back to it for OAMCC.

That'd be my hope. I mean there hasn't even been a name reveal of Airtight yet but man I'm firmly in "educated wish" territory with these pics.

I was just charged for the ones I placed on Tuesday... so looks like that September date isn't correct.. at least for some of them.

A lot of my "valuable" collectables just came from buying things I liked that happened to get hot later. Think I paid a buck for Cards As Weapons by Ricky Jay at a yard sale. It sells for $100+ now. I used to buy Parliament records at yard sales for a quarter or two when everyone was moving to CDs, etc. It's mostly stuff that no one saw value in that I only bought because I wanted it. Quote:
I'm starting to agree with others that Hasbro's most likely playing us with this one. Two days in a row they put up a certain amount in the early morning that lasted more than a few minutes, even after being posted on various GI Joe forums. So they were never really sold out.

I've got Hess and Texaco vehicles that were given to me as Christmas gifts when I was a kid or belonged to my grandfather. Yeah, their time is pretty much over. I think they had some value at one point.
I've been debating on selling off my remaining ARAH figures and vehicles for a while and think they're on the downward slope of their plateau. Still going for a lot but it seems slightly less than a couple years ago. Hot mass-produced stuff seems to do well for short periods of time, but long-term value is fickle. |

I hope he has both backpacks. I always loved his OG pack. Made me use him as an underwater guy because of those fans on the backpack I assumed helped him glide through the water (I was 7!)

Did the same for a few NECA Irmas and Aprils before the price suddenly skyrocketed. |

Truth. Those kinds of things were disposable. Their scarcity in good condition is a big driver of their value today. It's less risky to just invest in index funds or something more traditional instead of trying to find the sweet spot of supply v/s future demand if all you care about is ROI.

Yeah, the longer this goes on the more it looks like they're screwing around with us. It's like when they slap "Sold Out" on a preorder...Is it? Really? The entire production run is spoken for? It seems to work though, so maybe that's the best thing for a company like Hasbro to do from a marketing perspective. I'm grateful for having rebuilt my ARAH collection not long after getting my first decent adult job, long before they really took off in price. I barely look at them now with Classified being front and center but they're the last "collectable" I would part ways with if I had to liquidate. Hot mass-produced stuff seems to do well for short periods of time, but long-term value is fickle. As far as ARAH goes, some I plan on keeping forever. Like at least 1 '84 Baroness and '83 Destro. I kind of lost my attachment to most of them and like you I hardly ever look at them now. I just don't want to sell and wish I didn't like my TF collection. |
