Hasbro might also have seen Tomax and Xamont disappear from Target and Walmart stores fairly quickly and assumed they sold well and meanwhile Target and Walmart were going "send this shit to Ross".

Like you'd assume Cover Girl MUST have sold well (sold out everywhere and going for above MSRP on Ebay) but then she's showing up in piles at Ross now.

That CST 3 pack was not a good value initially, correct. But now? 3 classified figures in a deluxe set for $47? That comes out to only about $15/figure. And yet it's still sitting there. It's not a good look for them.

I guess we'll see if those show up at Ross for $20 this December.

The thing about the Starkiller set was that you were really paying extra for a bunch of effects pieces. The Stormtroopers have been released many times, and Starkiller was getting a single release anyway. No need to buy it. I already made that mistake when I purchased the Old Luke/Rey exclusive a few years ago, out of fear that Luke would be impossible to find at retail. Not only was I wrong about that, but the set itself proved to be worthless compared to some of the others.

Has Ollies gotten more stuff in since the Zarana wave? I'm wondering if Hasbro drastically cut production since mountains of figs got sent to outlet stores. Not sure if anyone's making a profit selling $25 figures for $5.

Regarding the retro Mindbender, I think he will have the silver Cobra sigil for sure and possibly come with re-tooled suspender straps with the Cobra logos. He will probably be missing the brain and skull samples for the retro release and maybe the injection gun may not be included with the little capsules.

I think retro Chuckles is possible. Probably the same deco, but maybe they could do his Sunbow colors for the retro. I think he'll be missing the alternate head and mayhe some of the accessories like the shades, the lei, earphones and Soundwave tape deck too. If they want to give him a Sunbow nod, they could throw a missile rocket with him.

Yeah, very good point about the much better value at a discounted price but still languishing on clearance and being available for nearly a year now.

Back in 1998, two entire waves of SW POTJ2 figures were seemingly nonexistent in stores. I purchased the eight figures from a flea market dealer I used to deal with at the time, and rumor was the figures were sold out/discontinued/not coming back. About a year later, I walked into KB toys, and the pegs were loaded with these two waves of figures....at least they were, if not for this scalper piling up about 4-5 (at least) of each figure on the floor, before taking these stacks to the register. I was quite angry at the time, until a few days later, when I went back into that KB. They had restocked the pegs with even more of those eight figures (at which point I really hoped said scalper choked on them and was unable to sell what was not as rare as it may have seemed). Probably similar to what you saw with Cover Girl - a very poor distribution issue.

Looks like they made far more of the 3 other exclusives than OAMCC, which is odd considering Classified is pretty hot right now and people are chomping at the bit trying to get one and they're still sitting on the SW and TF's from 2023.

I have a suspicion that the situation with Cover Girl is what often happens with Transformers. Which is they slightly underproduce a 1st run it sell out quickly and then they think it is worth making more.. but they 2nd run is more than the demand so the 2nd run shelf warms of goes to clearance.

I think that can be sometimes what happens and what even could have happened with Cover Girl (I think the one I bought was second run for example).

That said because Target and Walmart and Hasbro all screw up their distribution at times it is also entirely possible that Cover Girl was 1st Batch and just sat in a warehouse for a very long time.

But I recall Outback got a second Batch too (both versions) and was then actually also at clearance later on too.

So yeah there is a bunch of possibilities there.

So that odd helmet with the Gas Tanks.. who do people think it belongs too > Seems an odd shape to belong to Blowtorch.

There is something very familar about the gloves on the Twilight Guard.. anyone got any idea what other use they might be intended for ?
They do look a little bit like Overkill's but I wouldn't expect them to his hands.

Any ideas what those hands are a re-use or a preuse of on the Twilight guard ?
