I'm not going to act like I understand why they release things piecemeal. Anyone who does is blue teaming scenarios that are most likely going to be a LONG read and full of crap. I would hazard guess Forced Scarcity. Only because we've seen evidence of action several times. Maybe you're correct in guessing they do not really have hard numbers. However, they know they have "a lot". The things I DO know are: 1. Every single Exclusive Classified figure has been available multiple times 2. If I missed something once I just have waited and end up getting it WITHOUT eBay. 3. Hasbro KNOWS this is sought after and put a "5 per" limit on it. They most likely have a lot or plan on having a lot. Hell, new wide release figures have smaller buying caps than this. Just exercise a little non-freak-out discipline (NOT meaning you specifically.). OAMCC will be back.

Excellent take. I feel for those who couldn't get one today, I do, but it's a bit of an overreaction to sell off one's entire collection or "punish" Hasbro by cancelling orders, etc.

What happened to people? It truly feels like in the last 10 years the slightest adversity triggers the most desperate reactions. What happened to keeping calm and pushing through?

Not for nothing, but if you truly NEEEEEED an OAMCC that badly, I'm sure a scalper will be happy to sell you one on eBay. Does it suck to pay extra for it? Hell yeah, but if it's that much of a wanton desire, there are avenues to acquire...

I said earlier that I've missed out on some key special figures in the lineup, but that doesn't make me suddenly hate the brand. I'll whinge about it here amongst my like-minded enthusiasts, and then move into the next cool thing they've got in the pipeline.

Just take a breath folks, it's not the end of the world...

Were there multiple releases on the same day? I seem to recall a batch going up for sale at say 11AM, then another batch went up at 12PM. I'm in me 50s and its all foggy- but I coulda sworn there were more than just one drop for Mindbender to the general populace.

I take it you didn't use that SDCC link to preorder him early? Yours still fulfilled 10 days before mine and I ordered a day prior.

This has always been par for the course with collecting. Just seems more people have an entitlement mentality nowadays, sadly. While I don't regret it, I'm almost embarrassed to admit what I've paid over the years, for limited/con exclusives. lol

Most of us have been through this multiple times so it's not worth the freak out, however there is probably a sizable group of collectors that don't follow boards like this regularly so they are a lot more prone to over-reaction.

I think it would go a long way if Hasbro would simply just communicate better. Maybe just say "Hey, don't worry if you missed out, we're making more". It'd probably help with easing the meltdown online. Why not control the narrative better? The only logical reason is.. they know the people that are saying they're leaving the line will be fine as soon as they can order another one.. so they don't have to say anything.

The bad thing about being a collector of anything is.. we're very predictable.

Correct. Was told Mindbender was going up for sale to non-Premiums, then I hit it when it went on sale. Word of mouth from either here or another Joe message board.
