I think they are blurring the lines on purpose so they can make whichever character whatever they want. It is definitely harder to distinguish basic vs deluxe today than earlier in the line.

The figures look fantastic. Both the originals are some of the best Joes ever made on classified. These aren't better but are equal and great repaints. Lowlight looks fantastic. The one knock is something that we've beaten a dead horse about, but in this case is really pronounced. Those flimsy ass weapons. I had to heat and straighten some and even then, the quality of plastic on Spirits sniper rifle is unacceptable. His knives are soft as baby diapers. This doesn't help the choice of loadouts which make no sense for either of them. I ended up giving lowlight spirits rifle and spirit the outback stuff. That stupid nerf gun is unusuable, will wait for Gnawgahydes rifle to give it to lowlight until the marine becomes avaible and I get two or I find a suitable rifle from etsy.

I suspect that Energy sniper rifle is Cobra specific tech so it irks me a Joe has it.. unless he "borrowed it" from a Cobra and kept it I guess.

Swapping works well as Zartan had one so another Dreadnok having one is OK too. failing that I would give it to a BAT but to be honest I don't use that mould much it's a bit awkward in many characters hands & the strap is in the way - (works great in storage form though).

If they don't give a Rifle to Zanzibar or Zanya I might let them have that Rifle too. (if/when they make them)

I have always liked v4 Roadblock and think he'd make a great Classified figure.

Honorable mention goes to https://www.3djoes.com/baroness.html though, the hair being just the right flex to not inhibit the articulation and how right they got her glasses compared to how wrong they are with the one sold with Megatron. The details of her armour are very appealing too - that they barely need to alter her design 40 years later on many modern versions says a lot.

(Oh and I do like the red dip tips incidentally) If they had not made her already I'd have liked that on her retro Megatron packed redo.

But there is lots of criteria, look, play value and accessories, colours, characterisation, sculpt quality.

I'm not fond of Star Brigade but I had the armor bot and the general as a kid and those two were my favorite vehicles by far. The missiles would shoot quite a ways. Like a good 5-6 feet, maybe longer. And they shot hard too lol.

For some reason Amazon had a Retro Cardback Cobra Troopers. It kept blocking and saying quantity change but I was able to get one. so if you didn't go to gamestop.com to order one they seem to be popping up on amazon from time to time
