Considering that the Joe planning process, concept of operations, and command and control consists of "Get 'em" the entire team should be E-3s with 70% interest rates on their Dodge Chargers and a couple of O-1s fresh out of their commissioning programs.

Now I am confused about Steeler. He started off as an O-1 2nd Lieutenant while later file cards bumped him up and down between O-1 and O-2 (1st LT) each time. He must get in trouble a lot. He would seem to be a natural second in command during field operations behind Col. Hawk, but I do not recall him ever treated like that. Steel is normally just one of the boys following Stalker, etc.

Marvel Order of Battle demotes Steeler down to an E-5.
Makes more sense with the way he is portrayed.

Looks like normally an officer would lead a tank platoon, but individual tank commanders should be at least an E-6. Maybe that has changed over the years.

And somewhere I could swear I saw Steeler listed as an O-4 (major)! Cannot remember where I saw him published like that. Back-up pin-up in a Marvel comic maybe?
