I do wish I could unsee that awful unmasked portait of that 25th Beach Head figure. Yikes. Some characters I never want to see unmasked. Boba Fett was one of those. They totally ruined that character for me.

Beachhead and Firefly wouldn't have been nearly as popular if you could see their faces when the figures were released. It's the Boba Fett thing. Little boys love a character with no face that rarely talks.

That's a good question. Including Timber would have a couple issues. He's already been released twice, so it presents the idea that if that leads to a price increase, despite being Snake Eyes, it might hinder sales with the "I don't need a 3rd Timber" crowd. Then there's the question of how you'd put that on the cardback without ruining the aesthetic, given how much bigger the figures are? Expanding the cardback so it's inconsistent with the other Retros? Cover more of the artwork?

Personally, I'm in the camp that, like the Fortnite Snake Eyes, I'll pick it up regardless, because, well, it's Snake Eyes. lol

I'm not against figures coming with unhelmeted/unmasked portraits by any stretch, but I'm probably in the minority in that most of my favorite characters on the Joe team were the ones that never showed their faces (in action figure form).

To name a few:
Airtight - my all time favorite
Barbecue
Torpedo
Wet-Suit
Snake Eyes (obviously)
Beachhead (never had him as a kid but he still fits that description to me)

I would not mind in the slightest if we're lucky enough to get Airtight and he only has a helmeted portrait. Not that I'm against a removable or alternate head sculpt either (mine will never be displayed out of helmet though).

Exactly, it's why Beachhead has a coolness factor that escaped Stalker, Duke, Flint and Falcon. Blowtorch and Ripcord would have had this allure too, if their masks hadn't been removable.

Yup, 100%. As I posted in the Classified thread a couple years back, you know Beachhead sleeps in that thing. That grizzled mofo probably has a hint of BO, too, because of it. The ME head went to a rando kitbash and the Sideshow head stayed in the tray.

Also - Darklon's gun seems to have shown up - looks like the same guy that has the Retro Viper pics - as he's holding it. I don't know how they'll beat Slice's though....
