On that note, what could possibly be different for a retro release Mindbender? We thinking just less accessories? The slightest of color change? Maybe the silver cobra sigil on the back of his cape thingy?

I am biased but would much prefer a lab coat look for the maniacal dentist.

Edit: does retro Bender have to be v1? Asking same question regarding Rock n Roll? Are we assuming it is v1 all around cause I would be down for a Mindbender retro v.2, 5, or 7

I'm hoping they do a new sculpt like retro Duke, Scarlett, Beach Head, SE. Let the SDCC version remain somethin special. Same with Serpentor whenever they get to him.

Unfortunately I dont think that has any chance of happening. Although I do agree with you. But they are looking to reuse the mold, they said as much in an interview way way back. So I am guessing we are getting an ever so slight change in color or accessories similar to the EEL.

Hasbro poorly represented the U.S. Armed Forces with these 60th lines. Sorry, let me correct that, they did more than poorly represent, they shamed them. If the intent was to nod at the original action line then they missed the mark, but now they have expanded it to represent a Marine sniper and a serviceman qualified in free fall HALO... and they lost that vision by several hundred miles.

Whilst G.I. Joe in general is a fictional line, dipping toes to represent actual service members should have some respectful thought process put forward with due diligence in research.

Hasbro more than desperately needs a military advisor.

Most likely. I think all these retros should be something new to Classified. There's zero chance I'll buy another retro repaint, but a whole new sculpt, sure. If it looks better than the original.

I think the intent was always to make more money from the tooling they already invested in for the mainline.

I could be wrong, but I don?t think there?s any new tooling in any of these 60th figures, outside of an accessory here and there.

That being said, I might be one of the few here who couldnt care less about military accuracy. Its not why I enjoy GIJoe and never has been. The 60th figures are essentially expensive gear packs to me.

I am with you dude. I wholly regret buying retro Destro, Lady Jaye, Baroness, and Crimson Guard. I also passed on the EEL for the same reason. I did get a Snow Serpent but I am kinda regretting that as well.

Retro Duke, Snake Eyes, Scarlett, Beach Head, and Cobra Commander are all money though.
